Tongariro Crossing Lodge

Truly wonderful set-up, old world charm and friendly service, and all in the most incredible location. Very comfortable suite with a fantastic hot shower. Wonderful homemade breakfast too- thank you so much. We’d come back in a heart- beat.

Our stay was great. The room was warm and cozy (but not small), and the bathroom was spacious and modern. We really enjoyed our short but memorable stay here. Everyone who worked there were very helpful and accommodating to our needs. It was a very enjoyable stay and I'll definitely be staying here again when needed.

Our stay at the Lodge was wonderful; we were honestly spoiled with the excellent personal attention and the wonderful service. We did the hike and everything was arranged by the Lodge—breakfast, lunch and the transfer service. Thank you Marina for everything. Your bread was the best bread ever and I look forward to trying to bake it at home. And the breakfast was amazing! The Lodge was the best place we’ve stayed in NZ so far.

Lovely lodge with very comfortable accommodation and delicious breakfast. They made the whole Tongariro Crossing experience easy as by arranging shuttle service and fixing us a packed lunch for the day as well. I highly recommend the Tongariro Crossing Lodge for your visit to this national park!

Lovely place to stay, great location for exploring the National Park. Very welcoming and helpful staff, we didn't have breakfast but looks good if you choose to. Easy parking right outside the room which is well equipped. Highly recommended.

The lodge is clean and welcoming, very comfortable with drying rooms and laundry. We only spent one night there in the pouring rain but we could see the beautiful garden out the back and little terrace. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again if we come back to National Park.

It was an absolute gem. We chose the Pipiriki Lodge Tongariro Crossing package. It comes with breakfast, a packed lunch for your crossing day and return shuttles. The suite was lovely. I love the historic charm of it, complete with brilliantly painted porcelain! The suite comes with a queen bed and a single bed on the side. I slept really well as the area we were in (National Park Village) was a really peaceful area. The entire suite was spacious. We even had a kitchen, which we used to cook spaghetti for dinner for one of the evenings! We also were pleasantly surprised to be able to use the complimentary laundry facilities. Thank you for this! I’ll also really commend Louis for really making it easy for us to find our room, and also going beyond to let us know about unfavourable weather for our crossing day. He was really informative in providing us different hike options and what we could do for our day instead. We did try to go up, but turned round halfway due to really bad weather up at south crater. Still, our packed lunch was a lifesaver as it was packed full of goodies. Breakfast was amazing! We got the option of cooked breakfast which is always something I cherish. We had the classic cook and hearty oatmeal on another day. Both were delicious. I’ll also strongly recommend the homemade bread. It was SO good. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I’ll recommend Tongariro Crossing Lodge to anyone who would want to do the crossing.

This is the ONLY place to stay if you’re visiting tongariro national park! Anywhere else would be missing out on the experience of a lifetime. The accommodations are so homey. Lots of beautiful antique furniture, very comfortable bedding, and amazing products. Our group did one of the alpine crossing shuttles and our amazing hosts at the lodge prepared us both breakfast and lunch in advance of our 6 am departure. They delivered it to our room the night before. It was delicious!! Beyond that, the lodge has a drying room. Our group LOVED that feature. It was very rainy on our trip here so we had lots of wet clothes and gear. The drying room got everything all ready for our next day of hikes after the first day had us soaked to the bone. Our second morning here, we had breakfast in the lodge. It was a true highlight of our stay. Our hosts were the most lovely people. So accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. Plenty of hot coffee, water, and orange juice, as well as a beautiful arrangement of yogurts, porridge, and hot breakfast options!! Please stay here !! Our family loved it here and will certainly be staying here again! We would all travel back from the US just to stay here again! It was easily our favorite spot we stayed on our trip!
