Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse... I was so excited to visit New Orleans. I booked the Ben Louie because the photos looked great and the location was near the downtown district. The first impression was approaching a locked gate. You can't pull up to the speaker box without fear of being rear-ended on the street. You can't press the button without getting out of your car. MISTAKE - I got out of my car. Then I saw it, a group of young men approached my car as I'm trying to talk to the person in the speaker box. The group or gang began running toward me and were yelling. I heard a bottle hit my car, then another. I jumped into my car and backed out into busy traffic and almost got in an accident. About 20 minutes later I returned and the person I'm speaking to in the box was so nasty and rude, I asked to speak with the manager. The guy on the other end of the box said he is the manager and the owner. At this point its getting dark and I still can't get past the gate. It was too late to cancel my reservation and I had to get in for the night because I drove all day to get to New Orleans. Once I got in the room, the bed wasn't made and the bathroom was a mess. I asked for a different room and the owner told me he's not going to give me another room. He informed me I have to wait for the maid service which left for the day but he will call them and they should be back in 30 minutes. An hour and a half later, the maid showed up and when she was done, the place was still a dump. Dirty toilet with a turd, shaving cream in the sink and the floor was sticky. Again I reached out to the owner and he was even worse the second time around. I asked for a new room or a discount and he told me if I didn't like it I could leave but there would be no refund. I stayed. The next morning I woke to the sound of a mouse scampering across the filthy comforter. BEWARE, of this filthy, nasty dump.
