Hampton Inn by Hilton Manhattan Grand Central

Convenient location, close to the central train station and the UN headquarters. The front desk staff were very welcoming. You have to ask the front desk for toiletries, though. For this price and location, having a breakfast buffet is a good deal, and it's fun that you can even make your own waffles.

The room isn't small, comparable to a Home Inn back home. For the first three nights, at a similar price, I stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, which had a very large and clean room. I thought this Hilton property wouldn't be too bad, but it was a huge disappointment. Paying 2800 a night for a room that feels like a budget express hotel was just awful.

The breakfast buffet was decent! It was quite busy, but the location is convenient for getting around.

Considering how expensive hotels are in New York, I was really happy to find a place in such a great location at this price, especially with breakfast included. The only downside was that the room was tiny, I couldn't even fully open my suitcase. However, the ladies at the front desk were all incredibly warm and friendly, and they even helped me receive a package, which I really appreciate 🙏. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to New York.

The hotel is located in Midtown East, very close to the UN headquarters. This means there are police cars around, which makes the area feel quite safe and peaceful, with no loitering. Public transportation is also very convenient, with many bus routes nearby. The room isn't huge, but it's just about enough. Breakfast options aren't extensive, but they're sufficient to fill you up. The only thing is that the air conditioning in the back room of the restaurant is really cold. You'd need a jacket if you're going for breakfast in the summer! 😃
