The Gotham Hotel

The Gotham Hotel is now our family’s go-to hotel in New York, with its unbeatable location, well-appointed rooms and amazing balconies overlooking midtown Manhattan. We loved the views, the restaurant/bar and especially the excellent service.

No coffee, no cups, old TV. Zuk at front desk was rude, and unwanting to help. He may have been tired. Lobby is tiny, with no room, and under construction. This place is listed in various places as a 4.5 star hotel which is far from true. Felt deceived and ripped off. Even the 2 star hotels has this place beat.

The location of The Gotham Hotel made coming and going so easy. Located nearby Times Square (about an 8 minute walk) made it simple to get there and get to the shows on Broadway. We also walked all the way from Central Park down Fifth Avenue to the hotel. It is centrally located. Our private balcony off our room was such a special feature. I’m so happy with our stay — we’d come back again!

We stayed in room 24, which had a "balcony" that was more like an inner terrace. It was the best room for quiet we have ever had in NYC. The hotel was conveniently located, the staff were all really nice, and the room itself was well-appointed. We would absolutely stay here again.

This hotel experience was amazing. Good, central location, clean and spacious rooms with everything we needed but above all the staff was awesome!

Our new favourite for Manhattan. Checking in was easy and Brandon was so helpful in explaining the amenities and local shops. The rooms were top shelf for space and it is nice to have a fridge. A private balcony and the shared balcony were perfect for unwinding your day. Close to everything. So many stores (food, wine) pretty much anything you are looking for. Staff were always super friendly.

We are guests in this hotel, and arrived back to the room tonight to find an alarm beeping in one of the employee supply closets in the hallway. We used the texting service to make the front desk aware, and got “ok” in response. Over an hour later, we reached out again and got no response. Another hour later, and past midnight, we called the front desk. A male answered the phone with a surly attitude; we told him there has been an alarm going off outside of our room for hours. He said,” I know about the alarm. Do you want some earbuds?” We then started to tell him that his attitude and tone were inappropriate WHEN HE HUNG UP ON US.

Great hotel, fantastic location.. a little bit noisy due to construction nearby but excellent hotel.
