Fort Place Bed & Breakfast

I stayed here 3 nights in a fridgid spell in December. Tho I was here mainly to enjoy the Christmas sights and museums in Manhattan I saved quite a few $$s by staying in Staten Island and the ferry ride was a relaxing way to start and end my days. In the evening I would catch the S42 or S52 bus fromD lane at the ferry and get off at St Marks which leaves you a half block away.chuch with huge steeple on corner , deili right across from the bnb. in morning I would just walk the 5or so blocks to ferry. The owner, Paul, was welcoming and friendly and flexible with checkin if you let him know about what time you arrive. I got here after 9pm,no problem. I had the Queen suite a large homey, old fashioned room as shown in the pix. Beautiful bath down hall with clawfoot tub. there is a stopper in bath cabinet if you want to enjoy a hot bath rather than quick shower. The bath is private for your use only, and just a few steps down the hall.There is also a small kitchen with microwave and mini fridge and cups and plates .Breakfast and coffee not provided but you could bring some coffee with you or run across the street to get breakfast from the deli.Pauls artwork decorates the rooms and hallways. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.
