6 Columbus Central Park Hotel

Dear all, Every negative review written about 6 Columbus park hotel is spot on - accurate. The hotel website talks about a midtown luxury hotel showing nice looking rooms, the actual hotel & rooms are small, dim lit & shabby & face a dirty back alley & back of other buildings, The rooms are definitely not worth the 400 dollars per night charged, the furniture is old, wardrobe door was broken. The bathrooms towels are worn out & there is a big crack on the bathroom / shower floor. Worse than the overpriced rooms which don’t live up to the quality promised, the hotel runs a credit card scam where they use your credit card information to keep making multiple random charges on your card, calling it “pre-authorisation” for the week ahead. They have blocked an additional 4500 dollars on my credit card over & above my room bill & kept pretending they don’t know anything about this extra amount. After repeat questioning one front desk man said it’s a blocked amount kept on my card account as pending charge & this huge additional amount blocked on my credit card will drop off. IT HASNT - THIS IS MISUSE & ABUSE OF THE GUEST CREDIT CARD INFORMATION & A FRAUDULENT SCAM BY 6 COLUMBUS PARK HOTEL TO EXTRACT AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE FROM THE GUEST CREDIT CARD AND OVERCHARGE, POSING THESE OVER-BILLED CHARGES AS TEMPORARY BLOCKS THAT WILL DROP OFF. THEY DONT DROP OFF. The biggest fraud is general manager DONNA KOPIJ who fake apologises for every terrible experience, every guest has had. Donna KOPIJ is full of fake, insincere apologies, “she’s so sorry’ ‘“she will train the rude, obnoxious disrespectful front office staff to behave better with guests.” & ‘’she will personally investigate “ when I wrote to Donna about how the hotel has charged me an extra 3000 dollars after checkout & full settlement of the room bill, her radio silence & non response to my urgent pleas for help said it all.

Not great… images of the hotel are very misleading. They show a modern high rise building when in fact it is an older low rise. Hotel decor is very old fashioned and poor quality. Low light brightness is trying to hide the issues. First room offered had a VERY noisy a/c unit outside bedroom window that would make sleep impossible. Second room had very little natural daylight. Staff indifferent. Cannot recommend.

TOTAL CATFISH No way its a 4 star Do Not Be Fooled by Website! Although location is exceptional, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures . Rooms are tiny, dimly lit, alley views, shower water sprays your bathroom floor, bathroom equally tiny and dark, old faded towels. Coffee maker and water stored on window sill you can’t reach because your suitcases block all the walking space. Not enough outlets, no USB outles. Old building, elevators and hallways so tight and no natural light anywhere. Housekeepers not available in evening, no room service. Nothing luxury about it and charging luxury hotel prices. Pluses: The staff was friendly, comfortable beds, clean, great restaurant next door, literally steps to Columbus Circle shops, Central Park, coffee shop and bagels. 5 min walk to numerous restaurants , 5h Ave, and Times Square. Lincoln Center, Hudson Yards, The Edge, The Met, The Moma all within walking distance. I was angry paying so much money for a poor quality hotel, many others equally well located with much better quality for same price. No more than 3 stars , no way.

This hotel obviously hits the mark for location, location, location which is super important for tourists like us. Sandwiched between a Starbucks and a bagel shop, breakfast was readily available. Additionally the hotel was well staffed, and the staff were calm, pleasant and responsive to our requests (older couple). The beds and pillows were top quality and it was completely quiet and dark overnight.... so good sleeping. Small rooms, yes, but plenty of storage. Well thought out for a boutique hotel and great home-base for exploring the city. One suggestion....a railing is needed for the front steps.

Overall decent hotel in a good location but if you’re planning to use the sofa bed please think again. It is not suitable for human beings. Springs poking through so horribly that I needed to arrange 6 pillows on top of “mattress” in order sleep. Told front desk and they offered no solution or concern. Bare bones hotel yet clean, safe and affordable.

We stayed at 6 Columbus for 8 nights in February from the 4-11. The location could not have been better. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The room though small was spotlessly clean and very efficient. There were drawers under the bed and we had no problem storing all our clothes for the week and stowing our luggage above the cupboard. We had a wonderful time and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel
