"The armchair placement in the room was a bit odd. There was also a constant mechanical noise, like a water pump, audible in the room. The only light switch was right by the entrance, with none near the bed. This meant having to walk all the way to the door to turn off the lights before sleeping, which isn't ideal for those who prefer complete darkness. On the plus side, the location is good, within a 10-minute walk to Dongmen MRT Station, and the price was very affordable."

"The room was great, clean and tidy, and very smart. Plus, the panoramic window really added to the experience! The whole hotel has a nice design aesthetic, though it's a bit on the dark side, haha. In the morning, I ran into the cleaning staff and they were super friendly, greeting me warmly. However, the front desk staff member I encountered during check-in was quite cold... She seemed uninterested and gave a rather poor impression. And even though I specifically requested not to be placed in an end-of-hall or corner room, I was given an end-of-hall room anyway... Ugh. I would have been even more satisfied if I hadn't been put in that room."

Hotel near Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Area,Taipei
Hotel Uketamo is Taiwan’s first wellness-focused healing hotel and the fifth original brand created by the Forte Hotel Group. The name “Uketamo” is a phonetic adaptation of the core philosophy of Japanese Yamabushi Shugendō — “Uketamo (承もう),” meaning “to accept everything.” This idea resonates deeply with Laozi and Zhuangzi’s principle of “going with nature,” as well as Nietzsche’s concept of Amor Fati — the love of one’s fate. By embracing every aspect of life, Uketamo, when read in reverse, echoes the idea of awakening — a moment of clarity where one lets go, settles into mindfulness, and attains inner calm. Only with such clarity can the best decisions truly be made.

"I stayed in a twin room for two nights and found out the hotel is new, opened in 2026. Overall, it has a very Japanese, minimalist design. The room was spacious and well-lit, and the mattress and bathroom amenities were stylish and comfortable. The hotel staff were also very friendly and welcoming, and the location is super convenient for transportation. Highly recommended! The only downside was that the smart TV's mirroring function only transmitted audio, not video, so I had to watch shows on my phone at night. The hotel staff mentioned the system needs an update. I hope it's fixed by my next stay."

"The location is super convenient, just across the street from Ximending shopping area. Even though I only stayed in a bunk bed, it was very comfortable. The bed already had an outlet, and it even had a USB port, so no adapter was needed. Pulling the curtain created a private space, and I also got to meet and chat with my roommates. The shared bathroom had shower caps, cotton swabs, a hairdryer, and cotton pads. The water temperature was good (though it occasionally fluctuated a bit). The only minor issues were the shower pressure and the room card. The water pressure wasn't great, which some might find makes it hard to feel fully clean. And I kept forgetting my room card (you need to insert the card to open the door and turn on the lights). Sometimes I'd just want to go to the restroom, then realize I needed the card again when I came back (but if you forget it, the staff can help you open the door). Everyone gets a large locker, and there are slippers and a big towel provided. The space for luggage is also generous; my 24-inch 'fatty' suitcase fit perfectly. The staff were friendly and the front desk service was excellent. They tried their best to accommodate any requests, and always greeted me when I entered. B1 has a shared common area with free massage chairs, desserts, tea bags, dried fruit, and marshmallows. There's also luggage storage, and coin-operated washing machines and dryers. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Taiwan. If I'm with more people, I'd like to try a private room. Overall, I'm very satisfied."

"I had the opportunity to stay at Fun Stay Inn Hanzhong in Taipei for 3 days and was very impressed from day one. The hotel is charming, the atmosphere is warm, and all the staff were very friendly to me. This time I was traveling alone and, as a Thai person, my Chinese/Taiwanese language skills are limited. However, the staff made every effort to explain and communicate with me, helping me understand everything about the accommodation and nearby attractions. I really felt their care and hospitality. The room was very clean and well-maintained throughout my stay, which made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The location is excellent – close to markets, restaurants, and the MRT, making it very convenient for getting around. If I get the chance to visit Taipei again, I will definitely choose to stay here. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Taipei! ❤️"

"The room wasn't as small as some reviews made it out to be. You have to remember it's a hotel that occupies one floor per building. If you're just staying for one night, it's a decent option."

"The hotel's location was convenient, and the rooms were clean and very nice. The hot shower stopped working on the second night, but when I spoke to the owner, he immediately sent a staff member to fix the problem. The only thing that bothered me was that the water pressure in the toilet was unusually weak."
