DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark

This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio.

Biggest concern was WiFi connection ! Could not stay on WiFi very long kept dropping signals off and on. The floors were not vacuumed. Dirt and crumbs were all over the floor. And we were not told there was free coffee in the lobby.

I was first greeted by a wonderful front desk host, Brittany. She was helping another guest with some local resources and was so pleasant and warm. Next I went up to my room. There were some places in the hallway that could use some attention by the cleaners. However, I get our room was exceptionally clean. I always check beds when we travel and it was very clean. The bathroom is aging but clean. The bar and restaurant were okay. The breakfast was delicious. Our trip was wonderful for a night away to enjoy our local community.

The staff was amazing!! The iron board was broken but other than that it was an excellent stay.

Unfortunately they had a power outage when we arrived and then no hot water because of the issue caused from the power outage. The stag was very nice very clean facility

Staff was super nice and up front. Power was out when we first got there and was back on when we got back from our event. There was no hot water the entire time and was said to be getting fixed after we were checking out. Our room and bedding was not as clean as it should have been.

The room was comfortable, the staff was exceptionally helpful, and the neighborhood was friendly.

For the price of the room I would not expect there to be mold in the shower tile cracks. The staff was very nice. The cleaning people only made one bed because of a pillow we forgot on the other bed which is ridiculous. I have never stayed in a Doubletree before and I was told it was the best there was and I will not stay in another one. The room was dark and dingy. The view was a air conditioning units.

We did not get our breakfast we paid for, because we booked through Hotels . Com . The room was clean, bed slept very well. We don’t know if we were told the wrong time to eat . $28.00 is a lot of to pay then get told no food.
