If you are looking for a different type of meeting space, than look no further than The Vanderbilt! Our team didn't want our meetings in the classic bland conference rooms all day for our 2-day retreat and The Vanderbilt couldn't have been a better match. Every "meeting" room is stunning and comfortable, and the staff is incredible, helping with every little last minute event thing that always pops up. Also, the guest rooms are luxurious, and our team was so grateful for this hotel choice. I can't say enough good things about our experience here!

This Hotel rivals any 5 star resort that I have stayed in the past. Very unique experience in an incredible historic mansion. My guest room was a loft room and the size of a small apartment. I was here for business but this room would have comfortably accommodated my family of 4. Food and drinks were all top notch along with the level of service. I really enjoyed how beautiful every room was in the building, the real fireplaces and the gorgeous detail everywhere. The bathrooms in my room were equally impressive, very clean and felt like I was in a home, not a hotel. The whole experience felt like living the royalty life for a few days.

Located in the quiet and quaint port town of Newport, RI, the hotel is a timeless classic that pays homage to an era that has long since gone by. So. Shall we begin? I would say all that glitters isn't gold but still so much more at this historical property. For starters, the rooms are larger than they appear in the pictures that the hotel has posted. I would classify them as suites. My room was comfortably spacious. The most important thing that I liked was the helpful staff. From start to finish, this short stay definitely left an everlasting impression on me. Once I booked the room, Morgan Capodilupo, the Lead Concierge at the Vanderbilt Hotel, took the lead in helping organize my stay by booking reservations at the local restaurant, Scales and Shells. She would have handled anything else, but, alas, a short stay didn't leave me adequate time to play. The only suggestion and qualm that I have is the same advice that I gave to the Hilton Waikoloa Village hotel when I visited last June. Make sure to do plumbing inspections and occasional routine maintenance checks on the rooms, particularly the bathrooms. This was reminiscent of the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The bathroom sink faucet handle was VERY loose and maintenance had to be called back just after leaving to go home from his shift. Spotlight and special accolades out goes to the maintenance man, Michael. Like the archangel of the same namesake, he saved the day or, in my case, the night. I had arrived at the hotel late and the maintenance team had already left for the evening. I called down to the front desk and they called Michael. He had already left for the evening but decided to turn around and fix it. He definitely earned his accolades for the evening and I hope they toss a pay increase his way for that. I wouldn't have had hot water or I would have had a wet room due to the loose bathroom spigot. Overall, this did not dampen the mood of my stay. (All puns intended) He really went out of his way when he did not have to and his efforts didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. Additional honorable accolades go out to Maisy, Will, Leilani, Said, Brooke and Eli. Overall, Vanderbilt is a timeless treasure to behold with an old timey, gilded ambience that equates to opulence and wealth of the era that lives up to the Vanderbilt legacy and name. I look forward to returning in the future and this time, for a more extended stay.

I absolutely loved our stay at the Vanderbilt. The staff are wonderful, especially Morgan who is the lead concierge helping us plan all of our activities. The best part is feeling welcome and like you are in your own home at the property. It's cozy and perfect for a winter getaway, and I can't wait to come back. What an absolute treat.

From booking to departure, this was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Attentive, warm, well-trained staff, gorgeous hotel and decor, A+ dining options. My room was unbelievable -- large, sexy, and well-stocked. I cannot recommend this hotel more enthusiastically.

The rooms here are not worth $800. The online pictures make the rooms seem really nice, but the actual room looks nothing like them. I had high expectations, but instead, I found IKEA furniture, paper-thin walls, and cheap carpeting. The couch was covered in lint, and I was appalled at the quality for the price. There was only one person on the night shift, which seemed unfair to them. Customer service was terrible, with staff chatting 75% of the time. This place has potential, but it is not an $800 hotel. I recommend checking out Castle Hill Inn for a truly luxurious experience.

Quick getaway with my young three year old daughter. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, which was very pretty with a gorgeous bathroom and tub. My daughter loved the pool and we had great room service. The staff was over the top friendly and kind. Great stay!

We had my birthday dinner at the Vanderbilt. The room is spacious and beautiful. We will definitely return. Oddly, we had to have a 5:15 reservation, which was early for us. The room never did fill while we were there. They seated us over an air conditioning vent and did try to cover it. We were squashed in between the bar and the entry to a private room with constant wait staff walking by. Finally, my leg began to hurt because of an uncomfortable chair and the angle due to the ac cover. My husband said, "Enough," and asked for a new table. Since the room was empty at 5:30, they graciously moved us to another table and then we proceeded to have the kind of evening I had in mind. I had the duck and cherries, which was superb. My husband had clams in a shell with pasta, he couldn't stop raving. He loved the wine. For dessert we shared a chocolate torte. Perfect! I was comfortable, my leg no longer hurt and we left very satisfied. Before we left, our sweet waitress presented me with birthday macaroons and a candle - delightful. We will definitely return. The food was marvelous.
