Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island

This hotel is perfect for relaxation. The birds are chirping, the sea is calm, but the dinners are a bit weak and seem designed for package tours – you're better off eating elsewhere. Some rooms could use a renovation, but it's tolerable. Everything else is excellent; it's quiet and peaceful.

The facilities are decent, except for the bathtub, which had a lot of hair stuck underneath, possibly due to staff oversight in not removing the drain cover for inspection. The property is a bit old as it was built a while ago, but it's well-maintained and up to standard. The pool was a bit dirty with many insects in the water, likely because it's very large and surrounded by lush trees, attracting a lot of bugs. The beach area, however, was wonderful – very calm and clean. The electric shuttle service was quick and reliable. Breakfast was better than Vinpearl's, and the service was prompt, with spacious seating in the dining area. The natural landscape is fantastic, with squirrels, birds, and more. Getting to VinWonders is also very convenient. Overall, I will definitely return with my family next time.

Our stay at the Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa in a sea-view room was absolutely fantastic. The room offered stunning views of the ocean and was incredibly comfortable and clean. The entire island was beautiful and well-maintained, and the private beach was high-quality, offering a truly relaxing and leisurely experience. For a private beach resort, the value for money is outstanding, and I highly recommend it.

I really loved this hotel: clean and cozy. We stayed in room 505. The plumbing was in good working order, the TV showed cartoons, and the hotel even wished me a happy birthday, which was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise! We had breakfast and dinner at the Windy restaurant: the menu was varied, and everything was delicious. I'm a picky person and have traveled a lot, but I liked everything here! There's a shuttle bus that runs around the property, and you don't have to wait long for it. All in all, 5/5, I recommend it! The beach is clean, and the pool is huge. I will definitely be back!

We stayed at the villa as a family. The pool was very dirty upon check-in (it had rained the day before, likely due to that). They came and turned on the filter, but didn't remove the large leaves. The pool itself looks a bit old, with some missing tiles, dirt on the terrace, and broken sun loungers. We decided not to use the pool facilities. The room has a fridge and a stove, but no kitchenware. One room had a strong smell of sweat. The shower was in good condition. The air conditioners worked, and the towels were clean. Overall, it's a good villa, but time is certainly taking its toll.

The hotel left me with mixed feelings. The rooms were tired, and the housekeeping was just so-so; the only saving grace was the view from the window. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast either – the selection was meager, the same items every day, and everything looked unappetizing. It seemed like they either couldn't keep up with replenishing dishes or simply weren't in a rush to do so. On our first day, we decided to stay in and have dinner at the hotel. We opted for the buffet, and despite a huge variety of dishes, very few were good. Crab stick rolls? Seriously, for such an expensive hotel, that's just not acceptable. The only things I liked at dinner were the pizza and the ice cream. 😄 What I did enjoy was the enormous pool. You could play volleyball in the water or just shoot hoops. The music created a great atmosphere! There were plenty of sun loungers, which was a plus, but a scarcity of umbrellas meant we were constantly searching for a tree to set up under. The beach was nice, with a huge coastline, BUT there were ongoing construction works, and no sun loungers were available on the beach. On the upside, getting to and from the city was convenient, as boats run 24/7.

An excellent hotel with extensive grounds and well-thought-out facilities. We stayed at the Marriott Nha Trang and absolutely loved their approach to vacation planning. The grounds are indeed huge, which is more of an advantage than a drawback. To save you from getting tired, buggies run on a schedule to take you to the reception, the harbor, the amusement park, restaurants, or the beach. It’s convenient and fun. Accommodation: We stayed in the main building in a sea-view room. The rooms are clean, housekeeping is daily, towels are changed, and water (4 bottles per day) and toiletries are replenished. The soundproofing is decent; you can barely hear the neighbors. Important note (at the time of our trip): Up until mid-June, sand reclamation was being carried out near the hotel. I recommend taking a buggy straight to the beach by the Windy restaurant – the sand there is beautiful, the sea is clean, and there are no waves. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas everywhere, both on the beach and by the pools. Dining: Breakfast is from 7 AM to 11 AM. You can have breakfast at two restaurants in the main building or at the same Windy restaurant. The selection is huge: they have the famous pho-bo, freshly squeezed juices, excellent pastries, fruits, eggs in any style (boiled/fried), and meat dishes. I especially recommend the Mama Mia restaurant with its Italian cuisine – their pizzas and steaks are delicious. Things to do on-site: * Tennis court: An hour's rental + 2 rackets and balls = 350,000 VND (very reasonable for a hotel of this caliber). * Cinema: You can watch a chosen movie during the day, but note that the language is only English or Vietnamese. * Spa: Excellent bonus program: * Free yoga (book 24 hours in advance): Mon and Thu from 5 PM to 6 PM, Sun from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM. * Massage classes (must attend in pairs). On Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 PM to 4 PM, a staff member demonstrates techniques on a live person. Booking is also required. * Pagoda on the island: There's a pagoda on the hotel grounds, accessible by buggy (running hourly). It's a very beautiful spot with lots of shade, pleasant for a stroll. Useful information for guests: * Travel to the mainland (boat and cable car) is free for hotel guests throughout their stay. * If you stay at the hotel for more than 7 nights, you get a 20% discount at all hotel restaurants. Conclusion: A very respectable, lively, and engaging hotel. Even the excavator work on one beach doesn't spoil the experience, as there are alternatives. I recommend it for families with children (the buggies are a hit!) and for those who appreciate activities beyond just lounging (tennis, spa lessons, cinema, pagoda). Seriously, avoid this place at all costs. I stayed for two nights and was utterly fuming. As soon as I entered the room, I noticed footprints on the bed, but I didn't make a fuss and just asked housekeeping to change the sheets, not wanting to ruin my mood. Later that evening, I went to change into slippers and found they were used! The curtains were covered in dirt and even bloodstains. The 'complimentary' water bottles were clearly refilled and reused – absolutely disgusting. The room's facilities looked like they were salvaged from a condemned hotel; everything was so old! I called the front desk that night to resolve these issues, asking for a manager, but no one bothered to respond. It wasn't until the platform intervened that the manager finally showed up the following evening, after a whole day of being ignored. Their solution? An upgrade to a suite, and nothing else! I ordered room service, including mushroom soup, and the server didn't even bring a spoon! My god, is this really a Marriott? There was barely any Chinese spoken in the hotel, maybe one or two staff members who knew a few phrases. Do NOT go there. I'm already preparing an email to Marriott headquarters to complain about this hotel and its manager. Since I'm abroad, I didn't want to cause trouble, and there isn't even a police station on that island. It's truly laughable how helpless one can feel. It was terrible, absolutely terrible!

The hotel's swimming pool is large and great for kids to play in, though it can get quite crowded, making it hard to find a lounge chair. The beach is much nicer if you walk towards the villa area; the immediate beach has quite a few small pebbles. It wasn't quite the sandy beach I had imagined, and you can't see the sunrise or sunset, probably due to its location. The upside is the free access to the cable car and yacht, which is perfect for guests visiting VinWonders (Pearl Island) with children. The hotel basically doesn't offer lunch, only buffet, so it's better to eat on the island if you're looking for lunch.
