The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

We have been upgraded and moved to Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel & Suites as per front desk staff. And as a Hilton Honor member, the service we have received was excellent.

We enjoyed the view of niagara falls and a clean room And recommend the floor upper than 10

It's verrrrryyyyy gooood, free upgrade to Hilton, let us can see the falls view with lower price, appreciate it

The hotel, outside of the front desk, is not very clean or well maintained. The picture on trip.com is not the room you will get. The beds are well used and sag in the middle. They also may be different sizes. I was suppossed to have two queen beds. I had a queen and a full. The observation deck isn't great. It's basically just benches in front of windows in a hallway, that all have busted seals, so the view out of them is foggy with condensation. The windows are also smudgy. Calling it an observation deck is a creative stretch and abuse of the dictionary. Most of the rooming floors smell like kitty litter and the carpet in the common areas has large stains. I went to floors 6 4, 6, 7, 8 and 14. The only good thing about this hotel is its location and proximity to the falls and related tourist traps. I was able to see the nightly fireworks from my bed so that's a plus, but it doesn't justify the cost of the room, or outweigh the general mediocrity of a hotel pretending to be more that what it is. Pretty sure everything in the bathroom is from the mid 1900's. The people at the front desk are helpful except the guy who checked me in who got annoyed I couldn't understand him through his thick eastern European accent and then proceeded to ask me for every piece of ID he could think of even though I gave him a valid passport. He then tried to give me a room with no windows (how tf is that even legal, this seems like a fire hazzard) and also had a door that opened to the outside (like a motel). Eww.

Booked a premium view room and indeed, the view worth the money. We stayed at level 15 and directly seeing the Canada and USA Falls. Fireworks at night is a plus.

At check in the recioption they told us there a fee for deppsit..which was not mentioned during booking.. so she deducted 3 times we were upset and ungry.. she said it was declined the first time not working !!!.. but it was deducted 3 times.. taking long time wasting time to check in.. i dont know shes new staff doesnot know or just stealing our money!!! .. also for parking she said not free you have to pay for it 50 dollars.!!!! While booking stating free parking..!!! For the room nothing in the room even no water to drink..also lights was not working but they fixed it.. For the price it was too mich for one night without breakfast !!

Great location, but the room was a major bait-and-switch. We booked a "river view" room for our honeymoon, but the room we received was worlds apart from the promotional photos. Our view was 85% parking lot and 15% river—and at night, the river view was completely non-existent. I understand showcasing the "best room" online, but it felt misleading. Additionally, the Jacuzzi was located in the bedroom rather than the bathroom as pictured, meaning we froze walking across the room to the shower to rinse off. We had notified the hotel weeks prior about our late check-in and our honeymoon. When we approached the front desk about the room mismatch, the staff member was understanding and helpful, but offered an Applebee's breakfast voucher to compensate. When we refused, they told us "it was not a big deal" to just accept it. While I know they were trying to help, that specific phrasing felt dismissive given the situation. Pros: ＞ Location: Incredibly convenient, located right near the Falls Incline Railway. ＞Service: Check-out was extremely fast and seamless.Amenities: General hotel amenities were okay. Cons: ＞Vouchers: The hotel dining vouchers are pretty underwhelming. We used one for Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse and it still came out to almost $200 CAD, which in my opinion, was not worth it. ＞Room Reality: The layout and view were huge letdowns compared to what was advertised. The light switch for the bathroom in our was was also wonky -- If you move it wrong it doesn't turn on. Overall, the location is great, but don't expect the rooms to look exactly like the photos on the listing.

Upon check in I was informed that there was a maintenance issue and they required me to go and stay at a hotel further back (the Hilton) and a shuttle would be provided. I was not given any other explanation and when I briefly checked reviews I could see that this hotel was not what I had booked here at the oaks and the “falls view” was blocked by another hotel. I then informed the agent at the desk and was met with a rude attitude. I informed him that I was not happy and it seemed from other online reviews this maintenance issue had been used before. Therefor I would like to be checked into the room I had booked for the one night I was here. All of a sudden this room was suddenly available with no explanation to this said maintenance issue he mentioned before? Room was great however I was so upset and disappointed by the service I received and the deceit. I believe that there was in fact no maintenance issue but the hotel either over booking or having a deal with the Hilton to share customers. I have worked in hotels for over 10 years and I am aware of all these scams. I would suggest not booking here as a quick google allows you to see they have done this before. However it is a shame as the hotel and view are beyond incredible.
