It was one of the worst decisions I ever made when booking a hotel! Bravo on the photoshop, however. I'm angry at TripAdvisor; they need to do independent audits on these hotels with such excellent reviews. I'm also angry at AMNI Massena Oh, where do I start? Please do not do it, don't do it. I believe they must offer guests their last night free for great reviews. I ALWAYS give credit where credit is due, honesty always. This place is like the French version of Hotel California. I will TRY to make this short: 1. They ask if you want early check-in Yes, please, that would be great, thank you! Upon arrival, "Oh, we have no rooms, and check out is not until 3:00 pm." 2. FINALLY get the room (around 2:30). It smells musty, the bed is small (they do throw me a small bottle of rose for my birthday) 3. I try to keep an open mind; my friends ask me how it is, and I send some pics. 4. Breakfast: The following day, I am the only guest in the "dining room." you will see it seats AT LEAST 12. One of the staff came in; she was huffing and slamming cabinet doors She leaves and says to a reception outside the dining room, "ALLEZ ALLEZ!" I'm not fluent in French, but had a pretty clear impression. I finish breakfast, walk out, and ask reception if she wants me to leave. They say she has to prepare the dining room for the next guests. LOL, no, but she IS talking about you, and she has to get the dining room ready by clearing your one plate, having a dining room with seating for 10, and having a buffet breakfast. 5. I would never say this in 1 million years, but sometimes things are a blessing in disguise. Unfortunately, I had a family emergency, so I had to check out and go home. I went downstairs and told them that I needed to check out, and they said will you pay for the reservation through Friday, so you cannot check out without paying the total amount to fulfill your reservation? I said it was for a family emergency; they said yes, but you booked it until the end of the week, and you have to pay. Now, I'm beyond belief; however, I will not argue. I booked with AMEX, which has a fantastic refund policy, especially with insurance for your trip or when places promise service and do not deliver. I go back to my room to finish packing. For argument's sake, I also take photos of how nasty the room is. I went back to reception to check out. They told me that the manager had reconsidered it, and they only charged me for the two nights I stayed there. Oh, thank you for your horrible room service staff that talks about people behind their backs and your threat that you'll charge me for the remainder of my reservation when I have a family emergency. I would never say that a family emergency is a blessing in disguise; however, in this regard, it was. While I was finishing up packing, my mother called me and insisted I stay and not come home early, as it was my birthday and there was nothing that could be done immediately. She would contact me if things got
