Bad review ❌❌❌❌, I advise you not to come to Nice when traveling on a budget 😂, the moldy quilt in the cupboard, the window that cannot be fully opened, the bathroom that cannot be turned around at all, the construction site is noisy outside the window, and you have to leave at 10:30 in the morning The room and bedsheets have been washed and faded😅. Single men can't bear it. If they take a girl with them, they have to break up. This is a guest house in a tenth-tier village in China. . . Of course, Nice is a place where people spend money like water. If you can’t afford the money, with this kind of treatment, I seriously recommend you to take a detour when traveling on a budget 😂

I believe this hostel is excellent value. The continental breakfast is adequate. Nice to have milk with the cereal (Corn Flakes??). It was unusual for me to see sliced bread available for toasting - and it was most welcome. Thanks. Too bad they don't allow over 40 year-old students to stay in their dorms. I have my current student card, AND travel everywhere, staying where possible in hostels (lifetime membership in Hostels International - the so called Youth Hostels). But, they accomodated me. Thjs place is spotless! I do not understand why some travellers complain. Yes, from personal experience, it is not comparable to The Raffles in Singapore - been there too. But Antares is adecent, clean safe hotel. Very close to food (shopping for .. and restaurants) as well as being a 10 minute walk from the Nice Ville railway station. Definitely good value. No noise from party types.

This was my first trip completely solo, I think, and I loved staying here! I was amazed how many other travellers were solo and it was so easy to meet people and make friends. Lots of people eat at the yummy breakfast which is supplied in the mornings and it’s tradition (at least in summer) to have a couple bevvies with everyone on the terrace at the end of the day. Also such a great location for exploring Nice and making day trips along the coast. Not super flash dorm rooms, but still nice and the air con is amazing in summer. Very helpful staff. Will stay again!

I'm gonna write down some pros and cons here starting with the pros: Pros: - the property was very conveniently located right in front of the train station Nice Ville - AC in the rooms - free Luggage room - free breakfast - nice terrace Cons: and there is a BIG FAT CON!!! - there was a curfew (4-6 am?) ... when I arrived home the first night by 3:30am and kept ringing the bell for 15 min nobody answered and I was forced to sleep outside the hostel where I was first being followed by a strange man for a while until I got rid of him !!! when I addressed the staff about this the next morning they were not very understanding and not helpful at all I was told I should have come home earlier even tho I specifically asked about the exact curfew time twice(!!) before leaving in the evening. When my roommates were super worried the next morning and talked to the staff about this incident (after I talked to them about it and explained what happend to me) the staff was pretty rude to them as well just telling them “if it didn’t happen to them personally they shouldn’t care about it and be quiet” ... my roommates just wanted to make sure it would not happen again also in order to protect other girls from eventually being followed at night and to spread some awareness to the staff. Besides a ridiculous amount of 15€ that I got as an “apology” (I paid 45 for the night) they didn’t seem to care for compensating me in any other way … same thing happened to another friend of mine the following night just in his case someone came to open the door after waiting for more than 15 min If it weren’t for that incident I would have been happy to go back there at any time but the unfriendliness of the staff canceled out that option for me BIG time now!! - also they only take payments by cash cause the card machine apparently is always broken

Good location just next to Nice Ville train station to go anywhere, tram near by, 10-15 minutes walk to the beach and old city. Staff were super friendly and helpful, my flight was delayed by 4 hours, arrived at 02:00 am, they waited for me to cheek in after late hours. Also, on another day that I was just passing by Nice again, they let me store my luggage until late with no problem. Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. Beds were comfortable, clean rooms, plugs near the bunk bed, common areas and toilets, lift to go up to the rooms and dorms, nice outside terrace, games room, free continental breakfast, I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone going to visit Nice for long or short time.

Stayed here for a week and it was perfect. I don't like to optimize for hotels while traveling because I tend to spend so little time in them, but this means that you can really be rolling the dice as far as lodging is concerned. I booked a single room here and was not disappointed. First and foremost, the location is absolutely impossible to beat. You're walking distance from both L1 and L2 trams as well as a TER train station. Additionally, you're right next to Avenue Jean Médecin, which is a must-see. The Avenue also offers a direct walking (or short tram) route down to Place Masséna and Vieux Nice. The room itself was both clean and quaint. Free WiFi is offered. Towels are changed and trash is emptied daily. The staff was nice and helpful. Free breakfast is offered in the morning in the form of coffee and cereal, which I feel is pretty standard for most hostels I've been to. The hostel itself has a great terrace in between buildings where people like to meet, drink, and socialize. There are cool restaurants nearby, as well as a great bakery and a grocery store. The hostel also has a kitchen with shareable dishes, which we took advantage of for our wine. That being said, keep your expectations low: it is a hostel, after all. It's around 100 euro per night, so as long as you're not expecting the Hyatt or the Ritz, you should not be disappointed. Would highly recommend and definitely plan on coming back! Happily, Clayton Cohn

If you’re a young solo traveler like me, this is a great place to stay. The location is awesome — about a 15-20 minute walk to the beach, and close by to plenty of good restaurants, a small grocery store, and the train station which can take you to all of the day trips you would want to go on. I originally booked a room for seven nights in a 6 bed mixed dorm, but upon arrival and asking if they had any female-only dorms, the owner let me switch with no charge which was much appreciated. The rooms are fine — they stay pretty clean because of a cleaning service which comes each day, but the rooms are definitely small and the beds are not super comfortable. The wifi can be a little bit spotty but the air conditioning works well. Again, I think this is a great space to stay if you’re planning on being out and about most of the time you’re in Nice. The atmosphere of very backpacker friendly, but you’re definitely getting exactly what you pay for — nothing more, nothing less.

LOCATION This spot is very practical for those who come from the railway station, which is located just on the other side of the road. Given the premises, and the infamous Nice traffic, I feared that would be a noisy place to stay. Luckily, that wasn't the case. I haven't quite got if it's meant to be a hotel, a hostel, or both, but was all right for a one-night stay on a budget. ACCESSIBILITY The place is quite uphill, not in a steep place nor very far away from the beach (10-15 minutes), however, some (especially elderly people / children / people with disabilities) may prefer some other area. To get to the beach, some non-touristy, yet quite safe areas will need to be crossed (as long as one walks). Rooms are reached via a (quite tiny) lift, however, the path to the ground floor is sometimes misleading. THE ROOM It was a girls-only four-bed room of quite small dimensions (not exceedingly so, but not very spaious, either). Beware that dorm rooms are only given to student and/or under 40 people, As I am under 40, but no longer a student, I felt it was safer to ask and was given the room anyways. However, it could be wise to double-check beforehand. Beds are equipped with lamps and sockets. The bathroom was small and windowless but this didn't cause any problem, either. It went well for myself and the one roommate I met, I'm not sure whether it would easily fit four guests (I'm not aware of "general" toilets in the building). KITCHEN, COMMON ROOMS, FOOD Didn't get to test the breakfast or other food storage options. The place was well-equipped with informative material about the city and its surroundings. LUGGAGE STORAGE The luggage can be stored in a small closet room behind the reception, which I was allowed to do straight after my check-out as I'd be leaving by mid-afternoon. However, while a sign in the closet advised guests to give their documents to the reception, the person at the acceptance denied this point. Not that it caused any inconvenience as a fact, but this did cause me some confusion! ACCEPTANCE AT THE RECEPTION Quick and quite effective, quite no-frills. The hotel does have closing times at night of which you should be aware.

Not enough blankets. Dirty. Not nice. Air conditioning broken. TV broken. The boss gets angry easily. But above all, customers who break and destroy the equipment in the rooms. Hard. Customers break everything.
