Lovely accommodation right in front of Lake chuzenji. Tried the private Onsen with a great view of the river. Meals were delicious and way beyond expectations, particularly the steak and rainbow trout for dinner. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Nikko.

The onsen hotel can easily be assessed by bus, just 5 minutes walk after getting off the bus, in fact they have car park too. It is very near to the ferry pier and the view was terrific, every room has a balcony with lake view. It was runned by the owner and her family members. An unique onsen hotel with quiet and peaceful enviornment where we can relax after a long day's journey. The owner and staff were very attentive and care for their guests. My friend was sick, the owner offered her medicine oil to rub her stomach and let her rest in the waiting area even after check-out. The food was so very delicious and it was one of the best onsen food I ever have so far. I would highly recommend to anyone who want to spend a night in Nikko. I will consider to stay in this onsen hotel again in future.

Cozy little hotel right by Lake Chuzenji - all rooms face the lake so the view is stunning. The dinner was absolutely divine- we loved the trout with orange sauce and the steak. The private onsen was great as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

One of the most wonderful hotel we have stayed in Japan. Room was clean, food was excellent , location was exceptional and staff were very hospitable and friendly. Definitely will return if I visit Nikko again!

great place to view the lake, enjoyed a lot

This is in a perfect location, right on the water. The customer service is top notch. Thry have mens, womans and private Onsen. The men and woman have and indoor and outdoor onsen. The private is only indoors. All 3 are small but clean and does the job. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. However, if your not used to Japanese style sleeping then prepare yourself. It's on a thin mat on the floor. I stayed for one night and absolutely loved the hospitality.

This Japanese-style inn is built in a Western style and is located by the lake. It is small but well-equipped. There is a hot spring bath in the hotel, which guests can use for free. The surrounding environment is good, and it is the main scenic spot of Lake Chuzenji. Good reviews!

This hotel looks inconspicuous from the outside, but it's really nice inside. The room is big and the Chuzenji Lake is right outside the window. The room I stayed in was on the second floor. There was a big pine tree in front of the window. The lake was rippling in the distance, and it was clear and transparent. It looked like a huge bonsai in front of me. The lake was so blue, and there was white snow on the top of the mountain in the distance. It was so beautiful! The dinner was very grand, and the dishes were very tasteful. The dishes were also very delicious.

The hotel is by the lake, with a first-line lake view. The location is very good. The room layout is that of an ordinary Japanese hotel, clean and tidy, and also has a sense of age. There is a bus at the door that goes directly to Nikko Station. Overall, it is a good choice for a short vacation hotel. The main recommendation is their food, which is very generous in portion and tastes good. I stayed for two nights and had different meals. I also want to recommend a pork chop shop across the road from the hotel (also a meat shop). Monkeys often visit the hotel, so be careful not to open the window.

Highly recommended! The hotel is located by the Chuzenji Lake. It has a small number of rooms and is a hot spring hotel with one night and two meals. The service is warm and thoughtful. The dinner and breakfast are rich and delicious, really great. This time I booked a traditional Japanese-style room on the first floor without a bathroom. The window is the Chuzenji Lake, and the view is unbeatable. The hot springs in Koshangen are divided into three rooms, men's, women's and private. For private hot springs, you only need to write the usage time on the door to enjoy it. If I come to Nikko again in the future, I will choose Koshangen. It is very cost-effective.

Right by the lake, with beautiful surroundings, attentive service, and super delicious food. But I don’t know if it was because of the tatami, but the next day I found insect bites on my body.
