This place is comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed relaxing at the hotel after a hectic day exploring the tourist spots around Lake Chuzenji. We had dinner at the hotel, which required an early reservation before check-in. The meal was quite decent, though a bit pricier compared to the set meals offered at the restaurants near the pier. Dinner meal is 6600JPY for one adult and 4620JPY for one child. Overall, this hotel deserves a good rating for its spacious rooms, tranquil atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and pleasant onsen facilities.

My friends and I were very unhappy with the lake side nikko hotel. The room was dirty, there were cobwebs on the ceiling, the toilet paper was not changed, and there was a huge layer of dirt on the balcony, as if no one had cleaned it. The onsen was very small, so we could not spend time there. In the end we decided to leave and get our money back. At the reception we were assured that the money would be returned within a week, however more than three weeks have passed and the money still has not been returned.

The bathing tax is cash only. Only the large public bath is available. There weren't many guests, and it was very quiet. No water is provided. When I tried to buy water from the vending machine, it only accepted 1,000 yen bills, so I was thirsty until morning. Bringing cash, including 1,000 yen bills, is recommended! I used the large public bath in the morning, and it was like having it all to myself. It was clean and very pleasant. If you're looking for a room-only stay and bring your own supplies, this is a good hotel.
