The location is great and the reception is professional. However, the hotel is a bit out-dated

All good, also for the late check-in

It was excellent in the location right next to the station and local shops. The room was clean as well as the toilets and shower - I wish that the rooms were warm - i was cold while in the rooms

Except for the excellent location (nearest to Tobu-Nikko Station and the buses stops to various locations and places of interest, the hotel is badly in need of upgrades for it's rooms, facilities and amenities. The room I stayed in is big (compared to most hotel rooms in Japan) but the toilet seat cover keeps falling down while using it. Plenty of cobwebs at corners , especially along the corridor. The bathroom taps is like a 'makeshift' upgrade shared by basin and bathtub. See photo. Good thing is that I can see upgrading and renovation taking place but seems like it has been going on for a very long time already.

Convenient place just across Tobu Nikko station. For one night we had all we needed in our twin room, which was like a studio: private bathroom, kitchen corner with microwave, kettle, sink and fridge (no kitchen amenities), balcony with view. Heating and heated blanket did their job in the cold night. There’s a Supermarket and a Laundry service close by. The hotel needs for sure some maintenance and insulation can be improved as it was very cold. The only way to get to upper floors is by elevator, as I tried using the stairs but they were blocked by piles of sheets, which is not ideal as there should be emergency exits! Not really a budget accommodation compared to other places I stayed in Japan and for the standard offered.

There were cockroaches in the hotel and not a clean place to stay. No coffee or tea in the room.

Definitely one of the closest if not the closest accommodation within station. The owner also operates a bar right beside the accommodation so if you want to have late night chat or get together, its not a problem. The bed is also heated, which is desirable during the winter or cold weather. The only downside is there is no dedicated front desk. You have to call their phone number if they are not around. If not for other waiting travelers who have japanese phone, we could have been waiting for hours.

Great location, just across from the Nikko Tobu Station. However, need to hire more people to maintain the hotel. There is no receptionist for checkins between 3-10. Found cobwebs by the sinks and even on the partitions between the lower and upper bed. There is black mold in the bathroom and water pools at the bottom of the shower unit. With 2 shower rooms built for 24 guests, there is really only one shower room for 24 guests because one of the shower rooms cannot be used as you can not close the door to lock it! Wifi is not reliable.

Really liked this place. The location was good and staff were friendly

The only really good point is the location of the Hostel. Otherwise, it's... The minimum you need, stagnant water on the showers, you have to do and undo your bed's sheets yourself (isn't it what I am paying for ?), and the staff was honestly pretty unpleasant, I've done 12 Hostels during my trip, it was the worst, but for a night or 2, you know, it does the job
