My experience with the hotel itself was disappointing, though I appreciate the professionalism of the Trip.com customer service team.
During check-in, the staff informed me that my booking had not been paid and charged my credit card for one of the rooms. At that moment I did not have internet access, so I could not verify the payment immediately. I specifically asked the staff whether this charge was for the room rate, and he confirmed that it was.
Once I was able to connect to the internet, I showed the staff that the booking had already been fully paid online. The staff then admitted that it was a mistake. However, there was no apology. He only stated that the charge would be refunded to my credit card.
That same night, I contacted Trip.com customer service to report the issue. They assured me they would follow up with the hotel. Unfortunately, several weeks passed and the refund still had not appeared on my credit card. I contacted Trip.com again, and this time the customer service team resolved the issue within one day. Their responsiveness and professionalism were the only positive part of this experience.
The cleanliness of the rooms was also disappointing. In one room, there was hair left on the toilet and the sink. In the other room, there was even a used towel left on the floor when we entered the room. This raised concerns about the overall housekeeping standards.
Regarding the facilities, the hotel website states that a shared kitchen is available. However, when I asked the staff that evening, I was told there was not even a shared microwave. As a result, the food I had brought with me could not be heated and had to be eaten cold. This was quite inconvenient. It is also worth noting that the hotel is located directly above a Co-op, which makes the lack of even basic shared kitchen facilities even more surprising.
Overall, the hotel experience was poor due to incorrect charging, lack of apology, and misleading information about the facilities. The only aspect that deserves praise is the Trip.com customer service team, who handled the follow-up and ultimately resolved the refund efficiently.
