Bluegreen Vacations Shore Crest Villas, Ascend Resort

We stayed at Shore Crest II in a 2 bedroom. Kitchen was fully stocked with the necessary items EXCEPT a fry pan making it nearly impossible to make meals. The beds were so comfortable! Rooms were spacious. King bed in master BR, 2 twin beds in 2d BR and pull out in living room. Sofa was extremely uncomfortable to sit on to watch TV. Loved the in-room washer and dryer. Property boasts of work-out facilities—nothing in Shore Crest II; had to go to Shore Crest I where a lot of the equipment needed repair (so that was a bust). Don’t use it as a selling point if you don’t maintain it! Now for the WORST! OMG! I think I lost my hearing while there! Flushing the toilets put your hearing at risk! Like a frickin jet taking off! We heard ours, above us, next to us! It was terrible! 😳 Let’s move on to the staff—everyone was was so friendly! Very, very pleasant. Location: short walk to beach—very nice! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Unit was exceedingly clean upon arrival and the ocean view was nice. I quickly noticed that the thermosstat didn't go below 68. Anyway, the first night I was extremely hot and unable to get a good night's sleep. The next day I called the front desk and they sent an engineer up to my room. He told me that all the rooms are set that way and he couldn't fix it. I asked, "couldn't or won't?" He said he wasn't allowed to change it even though it was possible. He said it would take 10-15 minutes. I've had it done at other resorts and it takes about 3-5 minutes. In any event I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said they would get in touch with me. Needless to say that was the last I ever heard from anyone. How can you possibly set thermostats at 68. That is just ridiculous; it is far too hot to get a good night's sleep. The reason they do that is simply to save money on heating and cooling. They are cheap and don't care about your experience. Their complete unwillingness to help me was astounding. Be aware of this type of thing when listening to a Blue/Green presentation where they want you to spend thousands of dollars on a vacation/time share type purchase. I mean why would anyone in their right mind ever buy into a company that won't consider your comfort when sleeping. After all, they are in the sleeping business. I remain flabbergasted at the horrible service I received and as a result will never buy into their vacation packages. There are a lot more companies who won't treat you like this - Marriott, Hilton, and many others. What good is a nice unit if you just can't be comfortable.

several relatively small issue overall were repaired/resolved fairly quickly. Needs freshening up a little. Rooms were clean but parking wasn't great. (they are working on the parking lot) so often sent across the street to their other building/parking buildings and outside overflow lot. That overflow lot needs to be leveled off and less "pot-holes" to drive thru safely

The 2 bedroom unit we had was just perfect. Lots of room and lots of amenities. The view was wonderful. We had a 2nd floor unit and it was just a perfect vantage point for sunrise viewing and ocean viewing all day.

We enjoy our vacation by celebrating Thanksgiving and my birthday. All workers were helpful and nice. Our ocean front room was great. All we could see was the ocean and it felt like we were on a cruise boat. We really are looking forward to next year.

Wonderful thanksgiving vacation. Free game room games!!!!!! Great beach location with indoor and outdoor pools. Plenty of free board games for family time. Had my children and grandchildren and it was a great time.

The unit was outdated. The refrigerator needs to be replaced because the icemaker doesn't work and drips water onto the shelves. The refrigerator motor is going bad cos it makes a weird sound. The bathroom drains were clogged. The knob on the faucet to turn on the shower in the guest bathroom was welded shut. Had to call the front desk to have maintenance tech fix it. He had to replace the pipes and the faucet because they were so old. We wouldn't stay here again. We were guests not owners. RCI and the resorts should give nicer units to guests especially if they are available because the guests could potentially be owners. We have had some pretty crappy units over the years.

the resort is very nice and well maintained. It is located in the quieter part of Myrtle Beach, yet it is still convenient to everything and there is plenty to do close by. The Barefoot Bistro and River City restaurants have the Best food !!

Our entire unit needed a scrubbing including walls & floors. We wouldn't stay here again. Parking spots are so narrow that there isn't enough room to back out of the spaces; it could take 6 to 8 reverses to back out of the spots.
