Myself and a family member stayed for 1 night as we aware attending a paranormal event nearby. What a beautiful place. Gorgeous, perfect , English countryside pub!!! Rooms were lovely, the bed was perfect, I struggle with pain but slept so well and was very comfortable. We ate Dinner and food was brilliant. The Chef was very friendly and attentive and recommended the specials. Bar staff and Landlady were so friendly and chatty and really took an interest in talking to us . Would 100% stay here again and even go just for a drink or a meal Loved it, Thankyou

The evening dinner was superb, much better than the dinner at a nearby very expensive hotel! We shall stay here in future as good food, nicely presented and excellent service. Highly, highly recommend.

Went for lunch as we were visiting the Tyndale monument . Warm welcome and great choice of beers and wines. We both chose the roast beef and I can say this was the best Sunday lunch I have had out in years. Generous portions with plenty of veg and home made Yorkshire pudding. The beef was tender and tasty. Good service and the cloth napkins were a nice touch. We could only manage to share a home made fruit crumble as we were so full! Great value and superb quality , highly recommend that you try this gem of a pub./ restaurant.

We visited on Friday evening, having pre-booked. The place was busy, with a great atmosphere, and we were made welcome. The food (lamb shanks, and vegetarian lasagne) was excellent., and there was a choice of several decent bitters Will come again.

Had Sunday Lunch here as visiting the Tyndale Monument, just went in on spec. We had the Sunday Lunch which was very nice and Lamb was tender. The welcome was very good with the staff very courteous and helpful. The Pub is quaint and traditional with wood beams and very much the village pub décor. Coffee was good also

A very warm welcome by Darren and Karen. Lovely old pub with well appointed guest rooms. We stayed two nights and were very comfortable. Breakfast was more than sufficient, freshly cooked with plenty of "help yourself" extras. Good luck for the future.

Maddy and Gareth are amazing land lord/lady did us proud for our wedding blessing as there very first function since taking over the pub. Gareth suggested cracking out his new massive bbq and did cracking bbq food including a great vegetarian/vegan option. All the staff worked so hard and great as a team. We spent the night in one of there recently refurbished rooms and had a brilliant full English breakfast the next morning. All rooms are updated. Definitely worth a visit! Thank you and will see you in the week for curry night.

This place is SO cute and has SO much potential i was shown this pub by my sister Natasha Carter who works there, I loved the look both inside and out proper country village feel, however a play area outside would be lovely to help families feel more at ease and to make other diners who dont have children happier as they'll be more content, after all children can and do get noisy and annoying when they are bored. I disliked the fact that the carpark is NOT onsite and it's up a hill adjacent (easily miss if you don't know the area) we had to walk in in the pouring rain! The menu is a tad over priced for what it is, £1 or 2 cheaper on each meal and kids meals cheaper would of made my review a more positive one. However, staff were all lovely and VERY helpful and accommodating, I asked for chips with my lamb instead of the other potatoes option and they were happy to switch, several other adjustments were happy to be made (I know how annoying it can be). Everything I ate tasted lovely and the sweet potato fries me and my sister shared were BEAUTIFULLY cooked! Overall a nice experience, I will return but maybe without the children as it was so noisy(small inside area made their voices super loud) and it made it too expensive with the kids meals. But I would recommend to give it a go for passers by or anyone local!

Delightful country pub with beautifully updated rooms. Very comfortable bed and pillows , with an unexpected luxurious touch of robe and slippers provided ! Lovely view from the room looking towards the Tyndale monument - the pub is in a great location for country walks, with the Cotswold Way accessible just around the corner from the Black Horse. The hosts were welcoming and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast ( I had full English) was freshly cooked and excellent - thank you Gareth! All the staff in the pub were friendly and helpful, which made for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The food menu was great and offered choices for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the Wednesday evening curry night. I will definitely be staying again soon at this cosy country inn.
