Pros:
-Breakfast had a nice touch with the DIY juice station.
-Room was clean and functional.
Cons:
-The room entrance was narrow and inconvenient due to luggage and hanger placement.
-No slippers provided.
-Staff did not ask about membership or offer much information during check-in.
-Coffee at breakfast was not included and required an extra fee.
Overall:
A very average stay. The hotel claims to have been renovated, but the improvements didn’t stand out. Service was minimal and lacked attention to detail.

The place was hard to find , during our stay it was quite noisy and there was a fire alarm went off which was a hoax. after check out ,we needed to change my baby's nappy but there wasn't any parents room , wasn't expecting that from a 4star hotel

Overall experience including customer service was exceptional! Just that the hotel is a little bit hidden in the edge and a little hard to find, our uber driver had to circulate quite a while to find it. But I loved the room, very clean!! Will come again!

The Hotel has changed ownership and has been renovated. Not all the renovations are completed yet however my room was very nice and fresh. The bathroom was like new and for the price the room exceeded my expectations. I booked a twin as it was the cheapest room and they made the bed into a king without even asking. This was such a nice surprise. I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good and it was a nice atmosphere. The location is perfect, a short walk to the train station and it’s a quiet area. Would definitely stay again!

Room toilets are clean. Very close to Victoria Cross station, close to North Sydney CBD area hence plenty of shops around.

Since its renovations this hotel now feels very slick and stylish. The rooms look great with its modern look, while still giving off warm and welcoming vibes. Beds are comfortable, and newly renovated bathrooms look great.
Unfortunately, all of this aesthetic appeal is let down somewhat by the staff. I was barely greeted or acknowledged by the reception staff, and I was made to feel like I was interrupting them. There was no offer of help for my luggage or even recognition that someone with 2 large suitcases (and a child) would need assistance.
The rooms no longer have phones inside them. Rather, the phone number to reception was provided during check-in. This normally wouldn't be an issue, however it seems like they just don't like answering their phone. I tested this theory myself by going into the lobby and calling the reception. Neither staff were attending to guests, and yet I can very plainly see the phone flashing and being ignored.
I loved the decor and stylish touches of this new-look Rydges. Sadly, my most memorable experience from this hotel was rolling the hotel baggage cart to my room by myself to take down my luggage.

The hotel itself was good , what wasn’t great was being woken up by 5 false fire alarms. Starting at 7am. All of which were followed by an even louder announcement.
