"For where you are (Oamaru is a small historical town) and depending on what you plan to do the clue is very much in the name. Parking was easy, decor quirky and very well designed. Cold buffet breakfast included named local cheeses, beautiful fruit and bread section with sociable table seating - gorgeous. We did a visit night at Oamaru Penguins, which for nature lovers is unbeatable (with dinner at Del Mare next door to the centre which was great ) it was absolutely perfect for our visit."

"A villa building, similar to a homestay, can park, the room is a bit small, the two single beds are relatively narrow, about 1 meter wide, breakfast is a simple breakfast prepared by the landlord, milk juice bread fried eggs, the location is slightly biased, there is no place to eat around."

"Nice place with central location of the Oamaru town, near Woolworth supermarket, some nice old-fashion places and beach. Nice to visit and grab photos. Hotel keeps original decoration you can feel warm with the fireplace and wooden furniture. But the room is clean with modern style."

It has its own yard and parking is convenient. The car is parked at the door of the room. The motel is right on the main road, making it easy to get in and out. "While the room was on the smaller side, this was anticipated given that it doesn't offer a private bathroom. The listing indicated a 'separate toilet,' but in reality, it was just a washbasin within the room, and the toilet itself was shared. If privacy for facilities is important to you, I'd strongly advise against booking. Parking was also a significant challenge. The hotel lacks its own car park, requiring guests to find street parking. There are only two spots directly outside the hotel, which are rarely vacant and can be used by non-guests too. The whole street is usually packed with parked cars, making it extremely difficult to find a space. Opposite the hotel are private residences. We found the occupants to be quite rude; they aggressively told us not to park in any seemingly empty spots in front of their properties. This was the only instance of rudeness I encountered during my entire trip to New Zealand; every other local I met was incredibly friendly."

"Because I wanted to see the little penguin 🐧, I had to stay in Omalu for one night and finally chose to punch in the first hotel on the list of this homestay. I really like the decoration style of the hotel, there are many Chinese elements in it, because the owner has stayed in different cities in China for more than 20 years. The most surprising thing is that I actually ate the only Chinese meal in the South Island Tour for breakfast. 😄👍"

"It's alright, about a 10-minute drive from where you can see the penguins. The only downside is that the kitchen utensils are a bit sparse – not even a single knife, just one pair of scissors. I'd suggest the hotel at least provides a knife set. Also, there were only two hangers, which wasn't enough. The bed was quite comfortable. The water pressure was very low, so I didn't even bother showering that day."

"Very close to Highway 1! There is a large supermarket 15 minutes' walk away where you can buy food. There is a full set of kitchenware and tableware in the room, which is very convenient! Note: The parking space number is the same as the room number. The boss is also in the courtyard and doesn't look very friendly!"
