Hotel Madeleine

We had a fabulous holiday here. The Hotel is really nice and Michael and his staff are just lovely. The rooms were very spacious and the food was excellent. It may seem like an odd thing to mention but the boot room was positively luxurious and the heated boot rack was ideal. It is very close to the slopes which is nice after a long day skiing. The ski area itself is large with plenty of options for all standards of skier. We were here second week in April - the weather was very hot but even at that the snow conditions were good. We will definitely be back!

Booked through Crystal Ski. Absolutely fantastic standard of accommodation. Food was incredible. Great spa area. Staff very professional and friendly. 4 minute walk to two main gondolas. 2 minute walk from ski bus stop if going to Solden. Ski room with heated lockers, plenty of chairs, water fountain and external entrance.

Fantastic service from a really friendly team, very nice hotel in an amazing location. Has multiple saunas, steam room, relaxation area. Very good food and the menu changed every day. Has a great boot room with lockers that are linked to your room key card.

We had the most magical stay at the Madeleine. Thank you so much to all the friendly staff for making us feel so welcome. From the easy check in, to the service at meal times, the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely outstanding - breakfast had everything you could want and more, including the most seasoned, delicious scrambled eggs every morning and even complimentary prosecco if you wanted it! The evening meals were nothing short of perfect. 5 courses, so you were never left hungry and the food was always beautifully presented. The room we had was lovely, with a balcony and mountain view. The pillows weren't to my comfort, but the rest of my family liked them. The room was slightly small for 3 people, but again, not a complaint at all. The hotel was in a prime location, just a short walk to the main gondola lifts. The spa facilities were excellent and when you're in the relaxation room and it snows, you really feel like you're in a snow globe, as it's double aspect with fabulous views over the mountains. The sauna and jacuzzi are a real treat after a day of skiing. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, which is what it deserves! Thank you Tibor, Francesca and everyone else.

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Madeleine - lovely greeting and the whole of the team were friendly and chatty. Michael made a point of greeting everyone in the morning and was a wonderful host! The food was excellent- great choice for breakfast and the evening meals superb - thank you to all the team at Madeleine !

Wow. What a hotel. What great staff. What great food. We stayed here with Crystal ski. On arrival we were welcomed and given a run down of the facilities. I don’t think I have stayed in a hotel where everything is so pristine. The food was exceptional. The service was also exceptional with special recognition to Marina and her lovely smile, Nina who was always willing to go that extra mile and Thereza who was equally brilliant. The boot room was great with loads of space. We used the spa facilities when the weather closed in and that too was exceptional. The owner, Michael, was always friendly and engaging. He does come across as being a little eccentric but who wants a dull host? It’s very rare that one can’t find a single fault when staying at a hotel but this is one of those rare cases. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. If you get the opportunity to stay here, take it. You won’t be disappointed.

Great hotel a short walk to the lifts and ski bus. Small family fun hotel with good boot room. We had a balcony room and it was large with comfy beds and a sofa. Bath and shower and no problem with supply of hot water. Relaxation room was perfect after a day of skiing and husband enjoyed the spa area. Staff were attentive, friendly and super efficient. Food was first class. Plenty of choice for breakfast, delicious snacks after skiing and more courses than you’ll ever need for evening meal. Bar area got a little busy but soon got a seat. Would totally recommend this hotel.

The hotel is high quality in every aspect. Friendly service, professional, good location and full of returning guests. Waitresses are all so friendly and attentive. I don’t see any point risking stay somewhere else in future when this gem is available. Martin & Diane room 405

It was pleasure to return to the Madeline after previous stays in 2011 and 2013. The hotel is in a good location in the centre of the town, just a 2-3 minute walk in ski boots to the main lifts. The rooms are very comfortable and the public rooms of the hotel are very well appointed. There is a large, modern boot room with individual lockers for each room. The food was as excellent as we remembered from previous visits and is easily a match for any other ski hotels we have stayed in Austria and elsewhere. The thing that really sets the Madeline apart are the staff who are fabulous. They are clearly very dedicated to their jobs and have an attention to detail. Every meal, drink and question was greeted with a genuine smile and very friendly manner. . Next time we return to Obergurgl we will definitely stay at The Madeline again
