Turned up at 5pm for a pre-booked one night stay, having confirmed my booking 3 days before to find the “hotel” all padlocked up and looking like a derelict building, with an accumulation of litter at the doors, filthy windows and a very neglected looking exterior. When I phoned to ask what was going on, I was told that they had been closed (to be fair, it was the first day post COVID lockdown) and that if I waited in the car park for half an hour, somebody would come and let me in. Needless to say, I advised that I would not be staying and the manager hung up on me!!! Didn’t see inside, so can’t comment on whether that was any better. Luckily, I found alternative accommodation just round the corner at Morris Hotel (at the same price) which was fabulous and great food, so every cloud has a silver lining.
