Zenit Olhao Bed & Breakfast

The owner is a scammer ! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I only read the reviews after I arrived unfortunately. The information is a lie. IT SAYS AIRPORT TRANSFERS - FREE ! LIE. He charged me E28 as soon as I arrived at the shabby house at 11.30 PM.  HE THEN OVER CHARGED ME E40 for fictitious taxes blaming  them on a charge to *******. Private bathroom is not in the room which it doesn’t say in the information. Down stone staircase. No sink in the room. Bathroom was disgustingly filthy and used by other guests !!! Bedding and towels or room not cleaned in 8 days. Flooring was brick which is nice enough but you had loose grit on your feet all the time. I asked before I went if there was a kettle in the room. Reply was - there is one available. DOWN the stone staircase. I WILL BE PUTTING IN A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO TRIP FOR THE BLATANT OVER CHARGING WHICH LEFT ME AS A SINGLE WOMAN FEELING V VENERABLE !   A few hours before I was due to leave, he then refused to take me to the airport.

perfect BB in historic town , good reviews on booking and super host on airbnb , access to private swimming pool and private parking just next to the BB , at the residential appartments of the owners

This is a whole house and is really nice in the center of it all. The air conditioning was great! The negatives are that parking is extremely difficult. The WifI did not work .

Authentic, charming, beautiful property. Great location. Comfortable bed. Pretty room. Bedding and towels smelt so fresh. Fabulous view from roof terraces. The breakfast was amazing, won’t be needing anything else to eat today. Communication with Zenit hosts amazing. Gino came to meet us as we arrived late. Gino and Rose wonderfully warm and friendly hosts. Wish we were staying longer.

Great experience , one of the best BB we ever stayed

If only I'd trusted the negative reviews. Picture the scene: a woman in her 60s travelling alone to a foreign country, to be met at the airport by a taxi driver - not the 'free shuttle' she'd been promised - who could say only that the room had been cancelled and he'd been asked to take me to another hotel. Frantic attempted communication with the owner ensued, but he wasn’t answering his phone. My only option was to search for alternative accommodation for the evening – I had booked an apartment for the rest of my stay. Thanks to B&B Hotel for stepping into the breach. However, the taxi cost me 30 Euros. Had I known I would’ve needed one, I could have had an Uber for 10. I tried messaging Gino the next day to find out what had happened, only to be told that he needed to return to Belgium on ‘urgent family business’ and had to close the hotel. Strangely enough, every search engine showed that it was open and available that evening. Avoid, if you don’t want unnecessary trauma right at the start of your holiday.

We didn't even sleep here. The pictures on the site are NOT what you get. The host didn't want us to come to the site and asked to meet us at a pizza place. She then asked to get into our rental car and we "drove" to the site which was down an alley with a bar outside with lots of drunk men lounging around. The property was dirty full of flies and the toilet didnt' work. She insisted that we pay and added extra "fees" to the bill which she claimed were from our CC company but were not. THIS IS A SCAM.

The property is not as presented. The house I stayed in was utilitarian at best. There were no amenities and the pool is off property. That being said, there was hot water and the bed was comfortable. When I checked in the host said “It’s not the Sheraton” and I agree. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

The house described was an apartment. The place is in a poor state of repair, missing bulbs, lamp shades missing, fragile shower door, dirty, furniture you would find in a deceased pensioners house clearance, cheap tatty linen, worn ragged towels. The Aircon was ineffective even on full if you could put up with noise. There were no curtains or blinds so the apartment in constant light from the street light fixed to the outside wall. The fundamental function of a hotel room is to enable sleep. The noise and constant light made this impossible. As we say awake we discussed if this was the worst lace we have ever stayed. The charm af a deceased estate and the facilities a bankok backpackers hostel. It was 2nd worst behind a similarly disappointing hovel in Venice.
