Al - Alojamento Local Pension Bicuar

Nice service. The room was interesting with a bunk bed and another bed located higher. We were nicely located. Good place.

This pensão is in the heart of the old town, a couple of steps from the market and right beside the best breakfast in town – the Olho da Ria. It's a lovely old building whose one drawback is the very very steep flights of stairs between the floors. The street is not accssible by vehicle, which makes the place nice and quiet. My room was simple, clean and cool. Staff were more than helpful and there is a lovely cheerful atmosphere to the place, largely thanks to them. And very reasonably priced!

I changed rooms to be away from pedestrian noise . Outstanding touches of old and new. Kitchen was adequate for a few at a time. Roof top was the best, tho still in the process of recovery from huge storms they had. Hot water was ok tho it was cloudy a lot . Excellent staff and good location to promedade and to ferries for day trips. 12 mins walk to Rail . Could ask folks to keep their voices down when in the kitchen as it travels easily to other rooms. Seem to be an international thing. Nice art .

Super value for money with a lovely rooftop terrace

Friendly host and free room upgrade! Felt very safe. Great views from rooftop terrace.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!! Extremely noisy at night time, substandard rooms, no Aircon in 30degree heat with a ceiling fan with one speed.....slow!!!! Felt like a prison cell only with a shower in the room...... no wardrobe but a coatrack with 4knobs with hangers to use!! Disgraceful......awakened in early hours hearing a couple complaining as they took could not sleep due to the noise outside their room (I wouldn't blame them!!!). Reviews fail to mention the noise, it is very noisy until after 1am at least.....it is a step up from a hostel, so if that's what you are seeking you're sorted.....if you want nice, comfortable and peaceful accommodation, do not stay here.

Great location, very reasonable price. It was so close to all the harbour front boat trips and really great restaurants. The room was neat and clean. Responsive hosts. I would stay here again but try to get a higher room as the restaurant noise was a lot, not that Pension Bicaur can help that. The roof terrace was ideal for dinner. I didn't use the cooking facilities.

Olhao centre Better than expectations. Brigh, clean, airy. Friendly and helpful staff. Decor and architecture exceptional. Lovely roof terrace. Location right in the centre within a short walk from the train station, the island ferries, the central market, good restaurants and bars and a small supermarket.
