Hotels near Senkoji Park in Onomichi

There seemed to be a bus from Shin-Onomichi, but I took a taxi and arrived at the hotel in about 15 minutes. Take the elevator from the road and there is a reception on the 2nd floor. The room was very large and had a good water view. The JR station, restaurant, small shopping building, etc. were also nearby and it was in a good location. Anyway, it was cold so I used the hotel Italian for dinner. It was my first time with lemon-flavored carbonara, but it was delicious. I was impressed that the friendly staff who served in Italian the night before at the breakfast restaurant the next day said that thank you for using the restaurant last night.

This is a wonderful hotel, unfortunately we were put into the smallest room, one that was so small and filled with unusable furniture that there was no space for one guest let alone two. Getting around meant one person had to stay on the bed while the other crawled to the sink or shower room. The room was so tiny that staying in it was a constant source of tension, the kind of tension that can ruin a vacation. It was so small, it was almost impossible to step into the room and move aside so you could close the door behind you. There is a similar problem maneuvering into the shower. So if you want to stay in this hotel definitely ask not to be put in room 214. It's torture. Management would do well to remove the bed, the nightstand, the chair (which cannot be used because it has to be crammed so close to the small bed), and the small table next to the chair that also cannot be used. Replace the furniture with tatami, futons and a couple of pads to sit on. Now, moving on from the agitation of being sentenced to Room 214, this hotel has a lot going for it. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The hotel and the Onomichi train station share the same building -- a brand new building -- so as soon as you step off the train, you're at your hotel. Also, the building is completely soundproof. You will not hear or feel trains rumbling by or any noise from the bus and car traffic from in front of the hotel. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, not just high ceilings but vaulted ceilings, which I'm sure would have felt luxurious had we not been stuck in Room 214. The rooms also have high windows that give you a lot of ambient light and, I'm sure, great views from some of the rooms. Before being pointed to your room, you are brought to an amenity counter and allowed to take as many packets of luxury face washes, night creams and other cosmetics as you desire. A N'espresso machine and coffee capsules await you in your room. Once again, this is a wonderfully charming and modern hotel in a wonderfully charming and funky city. We plan to return to Onomichi when it is not so hot -- and stay in this hotel. But we'll ask for a larger room.

Super recommended. The location is very good, very close to the mountains and the sea, in the commercial street. The room we booked feels like it can live in two large and two small rooms. The hot spring is small and exquisite, and it is open to the public, but there are not many people. There are also optional shampoo conditioners and homemade smoothies are also fun. There are not many dishes in the restaurant downstairs, but every dish is delicious. I ate it all night. The parking lot is 990 a night, the one directly opposite the hotel.

I was able to go to Onomichi for a trip this time. I was taken care of here because it was close to the station, but I was able to stay slowly. Stayed 4 nights in semi-double room. Room is located a couple minutes outside the train and bus station but we had a little trouble finding it since part of the facade was covered for renovation work. It is a grand, old-fashioned hotel but it is well-maintained and nice that the ”old” touches are still there (telephone in the bathroom, coasters for drink glasses). Positives: room was large and functional. I believe all the rooms that face the castle are even larger. There was plenty of space for our luggage and it was great to have a decent table as well as a desk space to work from. Wired internet and wifi worked well. We tried both the Japanese and the breakfast buffet - both delicious. As other reviews have noted, the French toast is especially scrumptious! Also nice that the breakfast lasts a little longer than in most hotels. Negatives: old-fashioned but most of Fukuyama seems from the same era. Housekeeping was generally excellent but on one day, our room hadn't been made up and it was already 3:30 pm. Overall, a great place to stay in Fukuyama.

Very nice hotel , near to Station and convenient store, the only set back is they don’t have a car parking space. There’s a car park on the 4th floor of the building but it was an extra expenses

　I finished work in Okayama and I never went to Onomichi, so I stayed here as a place to stay. A few minutes walk from the station along the sea road, I was in the evening, so I shopped at Onomichi Ramen and convenience stores and checked in. The lobby is half floor. I used the point, so I think it is reasonable to have breakfast at 6000 yen. WIFI was displayed when I launched a personal computer, but I borrowed it at the cable front and connected it. It was the second night, so the most helpful thing was that the coin laundry was in the rooftop room. Washing machine 200 yen dryer 100 yen 30 minutes. Relax in the room and go to bed early. The next day, breakfast buffet, rice and miso soup are carried. I think it's okay with Japanese and Western side dishes. I left my luggage and went to Senko Ji Temple in the city or in the morning. I got a map at the tourist information office and asked for my luggage at the hotel, but I kept it with an exchange card. City swirl, eat lunch, pick up luggage again at the hotel, above all, it is easy to be close to the station. Others write, but the hotel building itself is old but clean and I think it is good because there are necessary amenities.

This hotel offers so much more than a comfortable room. The complex includes a restaurant, bakery, cafe, shop and bike rental right on the water. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The room was small but had everything I needed. I was on the second floor facing the street but the room was quiet and private. Excellent in-room coffee and great linens. The bathroom is big(!) and complete with a shower and soaking tub. There are bikes set up on trainers for use by the guests and the hotel is minutes from the ferry for the start of the Shimanami Kaido. Onomichi U2 is a perfect mix of offerings in an ideal location.

Only here for 2 consecutive nights. At first, unable to figure out how to enter to the hotel, as when arrived there, the entrance door was locked and only able to open with key. Was curious how to have a key before check-in. Later on, found a board that stated ‘To check in, please stop by at the Fukuyama Oriental Hotel which is 3 doors south of this hotel’. Anyway, just small matter since it was just few doors next to the Anchor hotel. The hotel room was spacious and comfy, they provided good quality of amenities, love the shower gel and shampoo! All are Lavender favours... There was a tablet inside the room that show some useful information, such as the nearby restaurants and attractions. The hotel location was strategic too, located near to Fukuyama JR station, only walking distance to Fukuyama Castle! In additions, the hotel also offered a simple breakfast for all the hotel guest! Anchor dog (in-house hot dog), brew coffee and fresh orange juice, you choose to dine in or take away! This was really great as the breakfast was initially not included during the hotel booking. The hotel ambient was really nice... Really enjoyable with my stay with Anchor in Fukuyama!

２ Use twin room in ３ days. The bathroom was divided by glass and the bathroom was a wide 々 with a washroom on the bus. The room is large and the desk is wide 々, so it is enough to work and work on a personal computer.
