The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes

We stayed for 4 nights beginning on July4th. OUTSTANDING experience and would stay there again. First time stay and Ann Clarke, Guest Experience Expert, seized the day for us with great care and grace. As a long-time Bonvoy Rewards member I was upgraded to one of the best rooms we have experienced through Marriott. It was a Lake Front Suite which was very kind treatment for a business road warrior. Living Room and separate bedroom with two balconies. The 4th fireworks were spectacular and almost eye-level. They do them on Saturdays too. Next time! The grounds are immaculate. The rooms are spotless. The service is what you want from Ritz Carlton with everyone friendly and eager to help. My wife enjoyed a spa visit and I went to the gym for a great workout. The Ritz and JW are connected as two massive conference centers which added extra dining options so we didn't need to leave the resort. Massive corridors and more meeting rooms than we could count. For our needs we added the Club Lounge access which took the pressure off incidentals. Need food or drink? Head to the Club Lounge which is open all-day until 10 p.m. Food presentations throughout the day in a comfortable room with a balcony and nice view of Orlando. We also dined at Knife and Spoon which was a treat for an upscale dinner. Great food and service. All good. Finally we traded the hassle and expense of an ocean beach vacation for the Ritz Carlton pool. It was hot this week but the pool at RC is clean and spacious. Many chairs open. I hope the nearest beach and long-lines were fun? We had a great time here. Service was excellent there with lots of choices for drinks and food poolside. Overall this resort gets all 5 stars in my book. Have fun!

I was VERY happy with the service and rooms at Four Seasons Orlando 6435 Westward Blvd, Orlando, FL. Upon check in, Kingsley was very kind and welcoming. Each subsequent evening he made it feel like we were coming home to family after a long day out on the town. He always went above and beyond but was always genuine. We also encountered Lakisha & Jessy who were so professional and helpful. I can also say that I experienced THE BEST housekeeping I've ever. The person cleaned everything but also tidied up some of our food area and when I returned I felt so much more comfortable. I do not know who did this as we were gone all day but we did tell the front desk so they could be recognized. I hope they were! The pool area and lobby were always kept so clean! I'm absolutely impressed with the pride the staff takes in keeping it all looking so nice and welcoming. The negatives: 1. We had a 2-queen attached to our king suite, there wasn't a dresser in there for my children to put their clothes, only a desk. 2. There is poor lighting in the rooms. There is no above-waist lighting except for the bathroom/vanity mirror in the entire room. 3. There needs to be some little shelf in the shower. I had nowhere to put my items and almost fell over trying to shave my legs. 4. The shower door kept sliding opened, no matter which configuration I set it. 5. Please get better service at the restaurant. I don't think they can handle serving food, especially dinner. After flying in, my friends waited almost 2 hours for 5 dishes to be served. They should have had food delivered but they thought the lobby restaurant would be the fastest service. I would have gotten food each day for breakfast but I couldn't chance the delay (one person staying got breakfast and it took forever as well). The staff is great. The coffee cart is also great but it is only until 9:30 (please extend it until at least 10 am as some of us are coming from another time zone and haven’t adjusted quickly enough to be done at 9:30; thank goodness the nearby Starbucks is a good one!) 6. There seems to be confusion about how many bottles of water you are allotted at the hotel. One woman was very nasty when I requested one even though we had 4 people staying in 2 rooms for 7 nights. She felt I should only receive 1 bottle the whole stay and pay for any additional. I wasn't asking for them every day but did request one once and it was given but when I asked Debbie, she became rude quickly and never came to the reception desk to even tell me to my face (she only looked up from her desk at the back adjacent to the reception desk -- no one was at reception).

Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld®

SeaWorld Area
With all the great Marriott options in the Disney area, this one certainly punches above it weight. The building has a great look both inside and out (love the huge atrium in the center of the building). The locations is convenient to Disney, Universal, I Drive, and obviously Sea World. You do have to pay resorts fees and for parking, but that's no different than any other resort property in the area. Plus, if you take advantage of the shuttle service to the park, the resort fee pays for itself. We've stayed here twice in the last 2 months and all of the employees have been polite and helpful. The rooms are excellent, exactly what you would expect from a Renaissance level property, and have the amenities that you would expect. Pool area is nice and the pool bar meets expectations. What sets this place apart is the lobby bar and the breakfast buffet. The lobby bar sits in the middle of the atrium, so its got a great vibe. Drink prices are what you'd expect, but if you're a high medallion member (got titanium this year), they give you 2 beer/wine vouchers per visit. The breakfast buffet is EXCELLENT, and again if you're medallion (not sure which level the cutoff is at) it's free. We usually never opt in for the free breakfast, but we always get this buffet when we stay here. All the selections including an omelet station. Anna always takes care of us at breakfast. She even remembered us from our previous stay a month prior which really impressed me and my fiancée. She's so polite and helpful and her personality and smile start your day on the right note. If you're looking for a resort feel for your Orlando trip but don't want to shell out JW or Ritz prices, this is where you want to go! Top marks all around!
Aloft Orlando International Drive
4.2/565 Reviews
SeaWorld Area
I have stayed at an Aloft before but this one was particularly disappointing for a multiple-night business trip stay. The hotel is connected with the Element hotel next door (it shares the connected gym as well as parking lot), so first off, one should compare rates. The Aloft is located behind a couple of fast food restaurants near Sea World. Check-in experience was subpar, taking extensive time as the sole agent was on the phone for ten minutes, not even looking up at me to acknowledge me waiting. The room itself is sparing: hard floors; exposed rack bar for a “closet”; no wall dividing the bathroom area; built in shower with flimsy plastic door. The decor was quirky, with repeating wallpaper that has random images interspersed; a window curtain that has matrix-like number grids on it; a wall decal sticker in the corner with electrical diagram shapes. The decor gave the room an irreverent but also chintzy feel. And the room's limited functionality was a big challenge, especially when the hotel cut corners on even the most basic operations. The bathroom sink light only had one of the two *****s working. There was no iron provided, just a crappy steamer. The bathroom amenities, drybar-branded bottles attached to the wall, are overperfumed (and I had 2x conditioner bottles, and no shampoo bottle--though housekeeping remedied this for the next day). The electrical outlets in the room are poorly situated and the pop-out one by the table cannot accommodate an apple laptop plug because it’s too narrow. And the oval desk by the seating area doesn’t really work for a laptop; it was thoroughly uncomfortable trying to work in the room. Noise from the hallway was pretty bad. The worst part of this hotel was that the claim of “daily housekeeping” is an outright lie—they only change garbage and towels and won’t change linens even if asked, despite the fact that the hotel website falsely advertises this (upon check-in, they hand you a letter at the front saying linen service is only every five days, as if this absolves them from responsibility). The room really could have used a thorough cleaning, as well; I walked in the room in socks which were gross on the bottom by the end. This housekeeping claim is clearly bait and switch. The gym does have a lot of equipment, though the two stretching mats look like they’ve been attacked by rats, with huge pieces of the mats missing. The elevators are slow and you have to push buttons on each elevator separately. The parking charge of $24 / day is highway robbery. Checkout was smooth though they could not print the bill for some reason (laziness?). Overall, I would not stay at this property again. It does not suit a professional needing to work in the evenings and sleep comfortably.

Sylvia was very friendly and professional, her and the housekeeping crew did a wonderful job of cleaning our room. I have a small baby with me and I very much appreciate that the room was spotless! She was very nice with her service and very good at her job. Probably one of the best housekeeping managers I’ve ever met!

There is a parking lot, the breakfast is barely normal, so the small room does not know where the bed can be added? After arriving at the hotel, hit Uber to Walmart 8.5 knife, buy a bunch of food and drink, you can bring into the aquarium and Disney. The main food we have these days is: milk bread, fruit and cheese bars. I feel better than the pasta burgers I bought in the restaurants and gardens. Advantages: The service staff is very nice; breakfast is also made to have soy milk, milk, egg and bread, DIY Mickey waffles can be heated; there is a small supermarket (although a bit expensive) on the side of the hotel, there is also an American restaurant; take the child from the hotel to the sea world 15 minutes or so; free to send two bottles of water, a paper cup hair dryer, shower gel shampoo hand soap. Disadvantages: The air conditioner is too noisy, not the central air conditioner, the temperature can not be adjusted, and the cold is turned off. I don’t know if the CMB room booked on Ctrip is arranged on the first floor? The windows opened and quarreled and hot; the bed and carpet were dirty. Ctrip has booked 127 to the store to pay 136. A door is a feeling of suppressing the dirty. Fortunately, I only stayed for one night. This is much worse than the Disney self-operated hotel that stayed for a few nights. The hotel behind it is only about 100.

The hotel was super clean and updated. Front staff was very friendly and it was quiet and we slept great. We came for Howl O Scream at Seaworld and expected there to be a shuttle available. They only had a shuttle for 30 minutes free after the event started so we ended up driving to a Seaworld and paying $30 to park as well as paying the fee to park at the hotel. They say it’s a 10 minute walk that is a lie and there is no good way to get there on foot. I was disappointed that there was no shuttle service especially when you are a Seaworld preferred hotel. The breakfast was so busy and unorganized, we had to wait for everything, they ran out of yogurt they ran out of eggs twice before we got to it. It was just not very good overall in my opinion. Not a lot of selection either. Overall good trip but beware they only have morning shuttle services to Seaworld
Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Orlando at Seaworld, an IHG Hotel
4.6/5137 Reviews
SeaWorld Area
The hotel is renovated and accommodations were fine and it is one of the better quality hotel choices in the busy and very touristy Orlando center. Also, breakfast selection was surprisingly good and plentiful for the typical selection for the Holiday Inn Express brand. The reasons for not giving the hotel 5 stars are below: 1) the bathroom sink in the room was clogged upon check in. 2) guests were allowed to consume alcohol and to smoke heavily in the pool area right next to many small children and other guests who did not appreciate being exposed to second hand smoke. As a public health policy, smoking should only be allowed in remote designated areas and not in the pool ares which is full of small children. 3) At times there was no staff at the reception and the staff that I did communicate with either spoke very poor English (or none at all, the assumption was that everyone should be speaking Spanish) or appeared to be genuinely disinterested and didn't pay attention to customers' concerns.
