Unfortunately, my overall experience at this hotel was disappointing. The two positive aspects were its location and the staff, who were consistently polite and helpful throughout my three-week stay. However, I encountered several issues, which are outlined below.
• At check-in, we were given a room where the bath water was dangerously hot and the temperature could not be controlled, making it unsafe to shower. After I notified reception, the staff kindly moved us to another room where the water temperature could be adjusted.
• In the replacement room, the shower curtain had a strong, unpleasant smell and appeared not to have been cleaned for a long time.
• The bath had not been properly cleaned after the previous guest; there was hair and sand inside it.
• The hooks on the bathroom door were broken, making it difficult to hang towels because they kept falling off.
• The television remote did not work, and the telephone in the room was also out of order. As I could not contact reception by phone, I had to go downstairs to report both problems. The staff replaced the remote-control batteries, which resolved that issue, but the telephone was never repaired despite repeated complaints during our three-week stay.
• Whenever it rained, water leaked through the window and collected on the windowsill.
• The toilet in our room became blocked three times. On each occasion, I had to go downstairs to inform reception because the room telephone was not working.
Despite these problems, the staff were courteous, professional, and did their best to help. Unfortunately, their ability to resolve several of the issues appeared to be limited. Although I appreciated their efforts and the hotel's convenient location, the poor maintenance and cleanliness significantly affected my stay.
