Old resort, weird layout, tired, dirty, and generally not a good place to stay. Would not stay here again. They have three sets of rules and there are rules for your rules, but they forget to give you a layout of the building or let you know what facilities they have. They also put your room number on everything including on the outside of the envelope that your keys are in and require you to use it foe everything including getting towels. Not safe!

Very disappointed with the service we received while staying at the Ocean east Resort. 12+ hours of no power (w/o ac / pitch black at night time.) All following a major leek in our shower causing us to move rooms at 11:00 PM. Two sleepless nights with only the promise of 20% off our next stay. As if. If you need somewhere to stay while visiting your family save the headache and book somewhere who cares about their guests.

If you are one who likes rules and do’s and dont’s you like it here. The room has a customer directory with pages of rules. Ask a question at the front desk, get referred to the guest directory in the room. Parking lot is very cramped. A potion of spaces are reserved for restaurant dining. Rule book says no reserving pool lounge chairs. But it’s not enforced. We found chairs left for HOURS with towels on them, while we couldn’t get one. In fact we observed one couple who daily went down early and reserved both lounge chairs and an umbrella table. Resort personnel often walk around and/or stand by the pool and do nothing about reserved chairs / tables. All that aside, pool was heated / warm, and you had the option of stepping right down onto the beach with cool 66 degree ocean. Pool had a sizable area with 6’ depth which was great. Overall the property was nice including having access to a seafood grill on the property (weather permitting.

We were assigned to a small studio room with a small TV, Small pull-down bed on the first floor facing the parking lot that people can walk up to the slide door. Was quite concern about security and could not change room because of full occupancy. Was told only those facing parking lot (not ocean view) units are for timeshare. First time at this resort. The resort may be fine if you are assigned to a bigger ocean view room; not assign to a small room, small pull-down bed facing the parking lots. We had been in much better resorts in this area

Great beach location and walking distance to food and essentials shopping. Units small. Bathroom is tiny. Adequate small kitchen area. Murphy bed too soft and noisy, sofa bed a rock. Windows too dirty to take pictures of sunrise. Still, OK for 2 people. Pool not warm and only open our last 3 days. Beautiful pool deck.

Antiquated resort and repairs are cheap shoddy work. Nice that's on the beach but we didn't have access due the "scheduled" maintenance that we were only informed of the day before we arrived

I was given notice only one day prior to arrival that the pool deck was not accessible, and that I would have to go to a different location if I wanted to use a pool or hot tub. I was there for one week, and out of seven showers, four of them were cold because of a lack of hot water. I even had to hand wash all dishes that came out of the dishwasher because there was no hot water available for the dishwasher. The resort charged me $35 resort fee upon arrival, and my opinion is that under the circumstances, they should have refunded everyone who was there and having to deal with no hot water available for much of the stay. I was also told at check in that everyone who books through an exchange company will never get any room other than a parking lot view. If you decide to go, do not get a studio unless you want to sleep on an uncomfortable Murphy bed.

We stayed during Christmas week for an in state vacation. First and most important, the staff was very friendly and did a terrific job. We were at the property as a promotion for sitting through a time share presentation, so it was a "free" stay. The pool was closed as part of a remodel, but that did not effect us, we had no plans to swim in December anyway. The room was very underwhelming. The mattress in the Murphy Bed (the main bed in the studio) was without a doubt the worst mattress we have ever slept on in our lives. Lumpy and uncomfortable. We tried to tough it out for 2 days, then we tried the pull out couch. The pull out couch was extremely hard, but better than the lumpy mattress. The kitchen is small and that was expected. Being Christmas week, we knew we had less restaurant options than normal so we brought food to cook, but the oven did not exactly function properly. What normally takes an hour at 425 degrees, took 2 hours with the oven set at 550 degrees. These are not the worst things we have ever experienced, but they were definitely things that had an impact on our vacation.

We had a great relaxing week. Even being an older resort, it was well maintained, clean and an awesome staff all the way around. When we arrived, we were able to see the tail end of Jeep Week on the beach. It was quite busy. Next time we may check the dates, because that was a bit loud and busy. Great location on the beach. Near everything you need. We explored the coastline going north and stayed in St. Augustine for a night and spent the days exploring the Historical city. On the way back we stopped at all the beautiful not so busy beaches. Made it back to the resort and relaxed the rest of the time on the beach and by their super clean pool. When we checked in on the last day we ventured to Ponce Inlet. Another beautiful area nearby. We'll definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Ocean East Resort. It was located right on the beach and near everything. Very easy to find and everyone was extremely nice. We will go back again for another visit.

The hotel is right on the beach which we loved and has a nice good sized pool. The staff were excellent and very attentive. The hotel was very clean and staff were always cleaning something throughout the day. The hotel is close to Daytona, the boardwalk and several good restaurants and shopping.

I have been staying at Ocean's East since back in the '80s when it became a timeshare Resort and I have never stopped coming. It is absolutely beautiful the staff is outstanding I love the pool I love the ability to go right down to the water I love the fact that I'm near everything but yet far enough away to where you can kick back and relax. Absolutely recommend at Oceans East to everyone it's quiet I just love it I can't say enough did I mention how great the staff is since the 80s I've been coming to this Resort and I will continue I'll see everyone in September forgot to mention the rooms are outstanding beautiful clean I don't feel like I've ever had a bad room beautiful. I personally as you can see by the picture love to look out when it's storming it is the best to watch the ocean and all its glory and the sky

Where to start, Worst place I’ve stayed in a long time. Has a terrible motel feel. Dirty rooms. Bed bugs. Rat droppings on kitchen floor. They don’t stay on top of anything. Maintenance fees are being pocketed cuz there’s nothing up to date here. Garbage hotel run by garbage people.

My family had a great week at Ocean East Resort in Ormond Beach and will definitely return. We enjoyed the activities that they provide each day. The unit could have been cleaner upon arrival but it was not terrible. I think allowing food around at the tables in the pool and hot tub area would make vacationers time there more enjoyable. I understand that maybe this was abused and likely left messes, resulting in the "No food" rule. The units could use some hooks in the rooms to hang towels and swimsuits, maybe even some on the balconies (at least the ones on the ground floor). We love this area. There are so many great places to eat and things to do. Again, my family really enjoyed this resort. We are a couple in our early 50's and brought four 20 year old ladies.
