Amazing view of the valley. Aleida made our stay even better. She was friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast that was included was delicious.

- I requested a king bed and it was just 2 single beds together with 1 blanket. - Bathroom wasn't working and the manager didn't help us, so we had to stay the full night without a bathroom. - I payed for mountain view and the only view that I had was to the other room windows. - The water was muddy and the room doesn't have a clean water bottle - Shower doesn't have hot water - The free breakfast is good but very small and basic. - The white blanket was dirty and stained with something brown. - The manager is not rude but is not polite.

Doesn't meet the expectations, rooms are quite small, there is no air conditioning and the room was very hot, bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom doesn't work correctly, I payed for 2 nights but I only was able to stay for 1 night due to the hotel conditions. To my surprise when I left the country I received a notification from booking that the manager charged us the same room again and doesn't want to revert the transaction, so at the end I payed 4 nights for nothing. Staff in the hotel is very good but the manager is offensive and aggressive.

Die Lodge ist sehr abgelegen drun herum ist nichts. Es gibt lediglich Frühstück mit sehr dünnem Kaffee und das im Land des Kaffeees. Zimmer sind sehr sehr hellhörig. Morgens wird man von den Hunden der Nachbarschaft geweckt. Sodas kein Wecker von nöten ist.

Die Paraíso Orocay Lodge liegt etwas abseits in Cartago (Costa Rica) und ist von San José aus (50 km entfernt) nach 2-3 Stunden Rush-Hour-Fahrt zu erreichen (viel Stau). Die letzten Kilometer ist die Fahrbahn teilweise unbefestigt und sehr schlecht erhalten. Vom Hotel aus kann man gut Ausflüge unternehmen, z.B. zum Vulkan Irazu (45 Minuten Busfahrt). Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber funktionell ausgestattet. Das Frühstück ist als kleines Büfett aufgebaut, u.a. mit frischem Obst, den obligatorischen Reis&Bohnen sowie Toast, Rührei und Säften. Von der Hotel-Terrasse aus hat man einen guten Ausblick auf das Orocay-Tal, was besonders am frühen Morgen mit bei aus den Wäldern aufsteigendem Nebel toll aussieht. Leider waren beide Whirlpools auf den Terrassen bei meinem Aufenthalt (Mai 2022) nicht in Betrieb, bzw. defekt. In der Nähe des Hotels gibt es keine Geschäfte. Es ist ruhig gelegen - kein Verkehrslärm stört. es wecken einem am Morgen die Vögel der Umgebung...

Schöne Aussicht ins Tal. Der Rest lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Mitarbeiter geben sich zwar Mühe, das gleicht aber den Mangel an allem nicht aus. Das Frühstück war schnell alle - es wurde nichts nachgelegt. Wein war dann auch alle. Kerzen für die Windlichter auf den Tischen waren auch aus. Die Zimmer waren weder geputzt, die Mülleimer (in denen das benutzte Toilettenpapier gesammelt werden sollte) waren auch nicht geleert. Es gab nur Deckenbeleuchtung, man musste aus dem Bett aufstehen, um zum Schlafen das Licht auszumachen. … Die Liste des Mangels lässt sich noch weiter fortsetzen …
