Reviews of Sarasa Hotel Shin-Osaka

The Good: Excellent location - very close to the Shin-Osaka metro (about 5 min). A 10 min walk to the JR Shin-Osaka station where there is also a shopping area. A lot of nice food and combinis nearby. Two of the front desk staff were really service-oriented, one Chinese staffer allowing for luggage to be kept earlier than my stay (thank you!) and also a young Japanese staffer who was thoughtful and kind, attentive to the guests at the elevator.  The OK: The laundry team is doing its job well - the sheets, pajamas and towels were clean (which is why the cleanliness score is a 2 rather than a 1 - see The Bad below). The other front desk staff did respond to queries with appropriate responses. There is a laundry room with two machines for the entire hotel, on the ground floor; similarly there is one microwave for the entire hotel, on the ground floor. I suppose they are functional enough, but I wish there were more facilities and not in such a public area.  The Bad: The hygiene and cleanliness were terrible for a Japanese hotel standard. Gross stains on the room floor and room walls, some gross sticky substance (looked like snot) and someone's leftover hair on the bathroom wall. The trashcan also had a sticky substance still on it. How is this acceptable?? The room slippers were unlikely to have been sanitised - one of them still had a really long hair stuck to it. Their way of "changing" room slippers is to put an ill-fitting thin pad on top of these unsanitised slippers. Really mind-boggling. The TV remote had so much dust on it, and the phone had gross stains on it - neither looked sanitised at all either. I had to clean up my own room to make it liveable for my time staying there. I'm sharing a few photos here, but these are only a percentage of what was really unsanitary about the room. Also, feedback about the poor cleanliness was given to the front desk and written on Google, but neither the front desk nor anyone on Google (say their PR or management team) offered to do any form of service recovery. The other front desk staff often engaged in their own chitchat even while guests approached. 

Hotel is very close to train station and convenient stores. Very clean. Efficient staff. Lovely room. Highly recommended.

This is my second time staying here. The room is clean and more spacious than I expected. I appreciate it. This hotel is near the Metro and JR stations, and there are convenience stores nearby. I will definitely book again when I plan to visit Osaka.

It is our first mother and son vacation to Japan and Sarasa Hotel Shin-Ōsaka is the hotel I chose after going through so many other choices because of its location.  The hotel room we stayed is of a decent size because we have anticipated it to be small due to the country's high population density.  So we are comfortable with it.  The bathroom is of a decent size and I love the shower pressure.  Not to mentioned my son was literally soaking himself in the bathtub every time when he shower.  I have used their laundry machine twice and twice the machines were occupied with one still running and another done but the user didn’t pickup their cleaned laundry. So I have to seek help from the front desk and they were helpful.  I need to wait for 10 minutes before the hotel staff could remove the cleaned laundry from the machine, which is their protocol, so I could use it, not knowing that I was just waiting around the lobby, the staff went up to our room wanting to inform me that she has free up the laundry machine.  I was impressed because I didn’t reveal to her my room number but she knows.  I will definitely choose to stay in this hotel if I am coming to Shin-Ōsaka again.

Comfortable hotel with delicious breakfast, clean room, warm service, and great location. I got room upgraded from single room to standard room for 2 pax. 😊 In 2nd floor they have coffee machine by UCC, operate from 12pm to 12am.

The hotel is located very close to the Shin Osaka station and can provide you with an alternative to staying in expensive Kyoto. Just hop on a local Express and you're in Kyoto in well under a half hour for about $4 each way. The room was a little bit larger than most of the Tiny hotel rooms in Japan and all the facilities were extremely comfortable with lots of strong hot water. My only complaint was that there seem to be some type of power station or generator near the room which had a 24-hour a day hum and could be heard quite well in my room. Ear plugs could solve the problem but this is the reason I could not honestly give the hotel a 5 out of 5 rating. Other than that, the room was great.

There are only two washing machines which always busy and dryers don't work properly

I loved everything about this hotel! ✨ Its a few mins walk from the station, since it is located in Shin-Osaka the JR train and shinkansen were very much accessible! There were a lot of convenience stores nearby and a few good restaurants. The room was everything I am looking for in an affordable hotel. It’s very big for a solo traveller, clean, cold and all toiletries/essentials, slippers were provided (which I didn’t bring to save space from luggage). There is a mini fridge in the room too! A laundry machine and microwave were available at the lobby! I would definitely book this hotel again if I am staying in Osaka!! Missing my room already!

I love staying here. The staffs are friendly. The locqtion of the hotel is near JR and Metro Stations. Neighbourhood is nice and safe.

Room is clean but there's a few spots in the room such as table and bed frame had been split open, some had been taped up with clear tapes while some are just left in the open. Location is good, near to one of the subway line exit 7 which is well connected to many places of osaka city. Relatively near the JR lines too which is around 8mins walk. There's multiple convenience stores around the hotel. Service is good, they provide small thrash bags when you're going around Japan. However there is no other amenities such as shaver, etc., what were provided were toothbrush set, hairdryer, bathing items. Stayed for 5 nights, where upon check-in, they asked if I needed my room to be clean, which I have opt for none, but subsequently on day 3, I needed a simple cleaning for one day but was rejected and was told that no room cleaning can be provided. So if you wish to have your room clean do tell them during check in only.

Good location , the hotel Is right next to Osaka metro shin Osaka station. 10 mins walk to JR station and Shinkansen.

easy to find. the location just 5 min walk from shin osaka. nearby with convenient stores and supermarket a few blocks away. fast check in and check out. spacious room and large double bed. individual air conditioning so that u can control the temperature by yourself. bathtub and toilet are big enough. water pressure is strong.

Sarasa Hotel Shin-Osaka was just right for the amount you pay
