Hakuba Alps Hotel

Perhaps due to inbound tourism, the hotel felt much more cluttered than when I stayed previously. There were no Western-style rooms available, so I got a Japanese-style room with beds. The room itself was fine for sleeping, but the toilet was extremely cramped. Several times I hit my head on the towel rack when standing up, leaving a mark. By the fourth time, I had to grab the towel rack just to stand up. It's a shame, as the hotel's location right in front of the ski resort is excellent.

I used this hotel for a ski trip. This was my fourth or so stay here. I knew the facilities were old, so that didn't bother me, and my stay at the hotel was actually better than I expected. The food was excellent and I was very satisfied. I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room. It was just my daughter and me, and I wanted to sleep on a futon in the Japanese-style part of the room. When I asked the front desk for a futon sheet, they told me that since the room was already set up with beds for two people, they would charge 4,400 yen if I wanted a sheet for a futon. I don't recall this ever happening before, and I haven't encountered such a charge at other hotels either. I was a bit confused by this. It wasn't so much the money as the way the front desk handled it that really annoyed my daughter. Despite that, for Hakuba, it's still a good hotel, and the price hasn't changed much from before. They're apparently renovating next season, so I guess the prices will go up.

Traveling to Hakuba for a family ski trip, we found the space to be more than adequate. The hotel has its own hot spring, the food is clean and hygienic, and transportation is very convenient. The parking lot is huge, making it super easy to get to the nearby ski resorts. We'll definitely book this hotel again next time we visit.

I booked this hotel with my dog through this website, but it seems the information wasn't accurately conveyed as the reservation was made via another site. This almost led to a 100% cancellation fee. The hotel prepared an uncleaned room for us, but still charged the full price, when it should have been discounted.
