Very good location just walk across the road can found fish maket next to the JR Station,and walk to Otaru canel in 5-10 minutes. The breakfast is fine and onsen is good as well.

I had high expectations because of the great reviews. But all blowed away by the lady who took our bags at the reception - we were trying to be friendly by trying speaking Japanese, the lady had no patience to listen and just guest what we need and showing off her English, then ordered us just leaving the bags and coming back after 15:30… I had never came across a person as rude as her in Japan so far! The place did offer great breakfast, but as we had an earlier train to take and at 6am there was a big queue already, we had to give up…

I have stayed at this hotel 5 times for past few years. Every time I went Otaru I stayed at dormy inn. The car park charges has gone from 1000 yen to 1200 and now 1400. Breakfast from 1800 gone up to 2800. . Worse now they are charging garbage charges 1500 per room. Even though the staff are still very friendly and room still very small and clean, it will probably not worth to stay anymore . I will definitely look for other alternatives

I have being to many hotel this hotel give me surprise,
That need to pay tax for per person 150yen for a night.
Cleaning of Room additional of 1500Yen a day no hygiene at all.
Thing in the Room look old and still got dust.

Location is fantastic, only 2 mins walk to sankaku market, the free ramen provided during supper time is nice! The free washing machine is very convenient. The onsen is very popular . Overall, it’s a good hotel for first time traveller 👍

Is a very busy hotel, staffs in reception looks tired all the times 😅 (no greeting upon check in no good bye upon go out). But the hotel itself is worth 5 stars.
- location opposite JR station 5 stars
- walking distance to Otaru canal 5 stars
- Onsen available with small treats / amenities (microwave) very thoughtful more than 5 stars
- room sound / noise proof is very good. Can’t hear the noice from corridor or next door or top room ( which I have this sound issue at other hotels when staying in other Hokkaido hotel for 10 days )
- recommended hotel will come back again

Free ramen supper and popsicles are good. Excellent location. Pillows seem a little dusty. I kept sneezing sleeping on them.
