Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel

Everything was okay with the facilities. The terrible downside was the disgusting view outside the window. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a room change, without even looking at the computer screen, they immediately told me they were fully fully booked. When brushing my teeth and washing my face, looking at such a scene, I got the illusion that I was getting dirtier and dirtier. Totally unacceptable. There was also liquid left in the kettle, clearly not cleaned.

As soon as I opened the room door, I was hit by a foul odor coming from the bathroom floor drain. If the bathroom door isn't kept closed at night, the entire room is filled with this unpleasant smell! Room 401

No elevator, the room was too small, and there was no extractor fan or air conditioning, making it incredibly stuffy. The breakfast was good though.

I stayed for a total of 11 nights over two separate visits, and it was excellent! I'll definitely be staying here again next time.

Just a 3-minute walk from the iconic Bodleian Library and 15 minutes from Christ Church College, this place is incredibly quiet, ensuring a great night's sleep.
