We stayed at this hotel with our kids to visit Oxford University. The biggest plus is its proximity to the university, but the living conditions are quite poor. We have several children, so we stayed in rooms 315 and 702, on opposite sides of the hotel. I personally stayed in room 315, which is an attic room on the top floor. The ceiling structure is very odd, with a window directly above the desk, and the bathroom at the very back. Being on the top floor and getting direct afternoon sun, the entire room was incredibly hot. Everything inside was radiating heat. While I could alleviate some of this by pointing a fan from the desk towards the bed, it also blew the bathroom odors into the room, which was truly unbearable. My wife and another child stayed in room 702. That room was much better, but it only had a small fan. After repeatedly asking, they very reluctantly provided a larger fan. However, with only one window, there was no cross-ventilation, making the entire night unbearably hot. This wasn't during a heatwave; it was simply a flaw in the room's design. Furthermore, the front desk staff, while appearing polite, only helped with issues after persistent negotiation. I can only describe their helpfulness as disingenuous. This hotel is in an old building, and the floorboards creak underfoot. Because they rebound, walking makes you feel like someone is always behind you. Combined with the photos in the hallway, it creates a rather ** feeling. Those who enjoy such an experience might find it interesting, and walking around at night definitely has a unique ambiance. The only redeeming qualities are its location and the surrounding environment.

This is a very old hotel, but it's in a great location near Modlin College. It's quiet and clean. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning and the incredibly noisy fan. If you're visiting during the summer, you might want to reconsider.

The room didn't have air conditioning, and even though there was a fan, it was still too stuffy. Suddenly, in the afternoon, there was no cold water from the tap, only hot water, so I couldn't shower at all. The Wi-Fi was mediocre.

The service was decent, with daily cleaning. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The hotel's downtown location is very convenient for walking around. I imagine the experience would be better if it weren't summer. I was on the third floor, and there's no elevator, but carrying luggage wasn't too difficult, and you can always ask staff for help. The biggest issue was the summer heat. The room got a lot of direct afternoon sun every day, and even though the hotel provided a fan during the European heatwave, it was still hard to sleep. Good to know that the double rooms in the new building have air conditioning.

Everything was okay with the facilities. The terrible downside was the disgusting view outside the window. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a room change, without even looking at the computer screen, they immediately told me they were fully fully booked. When brushing my teeth and washing my face, looking at such a scene, I got the illusion that I was getting dirtier and dirtier. Totally unacceptable. There was also liquid left in the kettle, clearly not cleaned.

Not really the hotel’s fault, but I stayed during the heatwave and the temperature in the rooms were unbearable, I didn’t sleep at all. They did provide a fan but it wasn’t effective. It’s an older hotel, a bit worn down and parts of it didn’t smell great walking through the hallways.

As soon as I opened the room door, I was hit by a foul odor coming from the bathroom floor drain. If the bathroom door isn't kept closed at night, the entire room is filled with this unpleasant smell! Room 401

No elevator, the room was too small, and there was no extractor fan or air conditioning, making it incredibly stuffy. The breakfast was good though.
