Wadham College, Oxford

Not a happy experience. Rooms are too hot. 33.6 degree in late afternoon. With parents in 70s, we had to check out immediately. We booked two nights and the college only agreed to refund one night. Will not come back again.

The worst of it was problems with the heating. The room was cold, 15C. The heating came on for a while then went off again. The duvet was thin so I awoke in the night feeling cold. I requested a blanket the next morning and needed it as it was again cold on the second night. Others in the building were also complaining of cold rooms. When I arrived there was a mug in the room but no kettle for hot water. No tea/coffee was provided. I had to request a kettle which I had to collect at the Lodge. The room description said there would be toiletries provided. My friend in another building had shampoo and shower gel. I asked but received neither. Breakfast was satisfactory in selection and quantity but the cooked food wasn't hot. Overall, it didn't seem that Wadham College was set up for guest accommodation.

Good location and memorable experience.

The room was excellent with a splendid view of the campus. There was a small refrigerator in the room, which was quite helpful. The staff was friendly and always there to help. Location was perfect with Radcliffe Camera and The Sheldonian within walking distance. I had a lovely stay here .

Lots of history but not going back Friendly and helpful staff at check in. Room was bare bones, single camp style bed, not sure the hvac worked. No tv but not missed A lot of outside noise until late, good breakfast but one needs to be quick (out of scrambled eggs within 10 mins. Parking and road works horrendous, Uber a rip off.

Great hidden place with lots of history Ideally placed. All staff very friendly, good choice of breakfast and much cheaper than any hotel nearby. Quiet room at the back away from Oxford too

Good location for exploring Oxford set within beautiful grounds. Good breakfast choice provided within the college refectory. Room was larger than expected with a very clean shared shower room between 4 rooms on ground floor and shared kitchen on first floor. The only issue with my stay was other guests failing to recognise that 5there was other people staying and making noise including shouting between floors at 03:30. Earplugs are needed
