This is a hotel with a bit of history; while it is very convenient for those traveling by car, overseas tourists should weigh the pros and cons. For instance, guests need to know how to take the bus into the city center or how to book a taxi to the hotel or station. On the plus side, the breakfast is hearty and delicious—definitely worth mentioning! However, do note that there are no in-room safes, and the bath room size is smaller.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations and was the best value-for-money hotel I stayed at during my trip to the UK. Although it's not in the city center, it's incredibly convenient – just a 10-minute bus ride on the number 6 from downtown directly to the hotel. It's a large resort, perfect for those traveling by car. The hotel itself is beautiful, allowing us to experience the scenic British countryside while exploring Oxford.

The place needs customer engagement and new business vision - the grounds look impressive from a bygone era in need of care and attention . The entrance wooden walkway looked dilapidated and in need of refurbishment. The staff were helpful especially with car parking and the customer lift.

Although a bit from city centre, the living area is quite amazing and we had a comfortable night

1. Very unfriendly towards Chinese guests; the front desk staff had a terrible attitude. There was no water in the room, and when I called the next day to ask for some, they told me it should have been provided at check-in. But no one told me that. 2. The hygiene was awful. I stayed for two nights, and on the first night, the table wasn't wiped clean, the bathroom counter wasn't cleaned, and the towels weren't changed. They didn't even bother to change the sheets and pillowcases, and they weren't made properly – everything was messy. 3. The soundproofing was extremely poor. Overall, it was just a really bad experience.

On the plus side, location and parking are very good. Unfortunately, having stayed there during the current hot summer, I was extremely surprised to find that the air conditioning only seemed to work in the common areas, like reception, but not in any of the bedrooms. It was built into the rooms and there was a control panel, but absolutely no power. To make matters worse, at 7am on the morning of our departure, the fire alarm went off. Naturally, we left our room and went outside. At no stage did we see any member of staff. I have, unfortunately, been present at another hotel when the alarm was triggered. Staff went around the hotel to make sure everyone was out and then took a roll call by room. In the case of the Leonardo Royal, there was nothing, not even an explanation. If they was a scheduled fire drill, the management and staff at this hotel really need to get their act together.

Comfortable hotel with good sized bedrooms. Good coffee/ tea making facilities. Disappointed that the MPW steakhouse was closed so we had to ‘Uber’ to Summertown to eat as we did not want to eat in the hotel bar. ( also the menu prices in the bar seemed high). Staff were not overly welcoming or engaged at check in.

The hotel is about five kilometers from Oxford city center, a convenient 10-12 minute taxi ride away. The hotel's front desk manager and several staff members are British and provide good service. There's also a Chinese lady, likely to facilitate communication with Chinese guests. Overall, the facilities are quite good and relatively new. I have two issues though: 1. There's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs yourself; 2. The gym opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 9:30 PM, but they stop allowing entry at 9 PM. The English breakfast is decent and quite authentic. However, the service is generally poor. During my stay, one morning I witnessed a female front desk receptionist arguing with an elderly British man, who seemed extremely upset. This level of service is unacceptable. One evening, I had cod at Leo's restaurant, and it was the worst I've ever tasted. When it was served, it had a slight odor, similar to stinky mandarin fish. It was bland and incredibly dry when I ate it. It smelled bad and tasted like nothing. After two bites, I left it, only eating the sides and fries. The fries were also the worst I've ever had, no exaggeration! Overall, I'd likely stay at this hotel again in the future, but I definitely won't be having dinner at the hotel restaurant.
