The Dial House Guest House

Great experience, clean rooms, perfect for a smaller budget. You can easily get there from the center with the bus, as the station is just outside the guesthouse.

Booked for its nearness to John Radcliffe Hospital (3 mins) . The "room" was clean, had tea/coffee facilities & hairdryer. Unfortunately the "room" was like a corridor, long and thin, with two single beds facing each other. Down one end was the shower room (all clean, nothing wrong with it, walk in shower) . I think originally it may have been a corridor/hallway. Beds were not comfortable at all. Tiny TV that was too far away from one bed, and wrong angle to see from the other bed. The house felt like an ex student digs. The reception was in a dark windowless room with an old sofa. It all felt untidy and old. We didnt have breakfast so can't comment, but the breakfast room was overlooking a nice back gagarden.Not for us, the lady wanted us to check the room first, im guessing people have complained before. We had already booked through booking. Com, so doubt we could have got a refund, and after a day of hospitals I was too tired to try and find new accommodation. Next time we will stay somewhere else. Very expensive for the room we got.

This was a last minute stay as we didn't know how far we would travel on our first day in the UK. We stopped in well after dark but the door was quickly answered. Rate was very reasonable. Furniture was old but comfortable. Very quiet and convienient.

A lovely place to stay. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful. It is spotlessly clean with attention to detail. Spacious and light dining and sitting area overlooking beautiful garden with trees. Bus stops right outside the house with frequent buses into city centre and back. Pubs and restaurants nearby including a great Lebanese restaurant 'Beirut'.

Local amenities very good re resturaunts & varied prices 5/15min walking distance. Breakfast - basic continental &/or 'egg'. Room - Basic, in need of TLC. Cleanliness - bathroom 'gruby', no bath plug, no anti slip mat, towels seen better days & toilet system +++ detritus/dust. Room tea/coffee/milk topped up daily. Landing/stairway furniture 'very dusty' (& no, I didn't write 'clean me' was there on arrival & departure - did mention it). It was a very wet weekend so leaves on stairs from soles of shoes to be expected. Staff (saw 2) - polite. Bus stop outside the door, a 15min bus ride into Oxford city centre, £2.00 each way. B&B parking good.

Lovely friendly staff! Good breakfast. Nice breakfast area and good choice of food. We hadn’t realised that there was a lounge where we could have sat in the evening! Pleasant clean room, quiet. Easy safe parking, a real bonus in this area.

Dirtiest accommodation I have stayed in in many, many years. Insects crawling on and in the bed. Common area floor filthy dirty. Carpets fraying everywhere. Towels; dirty. Electric sockets; not working. Staff; rude; apparently there is pre-assigned seating for breakfast; I was barked at to move tables. Entrance is dark. Bathroom actually clean but floor was dangerously slippery. Flagged uncleanliness to staff; no response.

The whole place is very tired, inside, outside - and particularly our bedroom. TV OK. Wi-Fi poor Staff were great, as was the included breakfast, bur really, the place needs a good makeover. Location excellent for bussing in to central Oxford.
