The Sunset Inn looks like it has recently been refreshed, with new paint and amenities throughout the property. Our unit was sp****ly decorated, which means both more floor space and less countertop space (one small round table with two chairs, and two small end tables next to each side of the bed). The fireplace was a nice amenity, but lighting it took two visits to the office as there wasn't a clearly noted control panel.
This is a long, narrow property. Parking is a challenge, especially if you arrive after dinner. I ended up parking in a handicap space both nights, and someone else parked in the "no parking" area next to me.
They offer a light breakfast, and the coffee/juice machine is available as long as the office is open. They have plenty of maps, a complimentary copy of the local paper, and good local knowledge on restaurants and "things to do" near the hotel.
The owners and their staff are polite, kind, and responsive. The office closes at 9:00p, and they frown on making noise outside your bungalow after that. There are chairs and tables outside each bungalow, so you can sit outside and talk while enjoying a glass of wine or some food.
Overall, we had a good experience at the Sunset Inn.
