Marriott's Desert Springs Villas II

The environment is great! The outside of the house is full of golf courses. The large area is full of Marriott. There are various room types, villas, townhouses, hotels. Originally, I wanted to make a two-bedroom villa. The order was not paid successfully. I changed the single room and the room was large. The sofa bed and balcony, the house is just fine, the blanket in the cupboard is a bit thin. Another 10 o'clock check out is a bit uncomfortable! Such a good environment, I had to turn around after checking out! Remind compatriots: Old American rooms are generally equipped with kitchen heating equipment, go out and prepare a light meal outside, ready to go!

It’s a very beautiful resort. The room was enough room for a family. We had full kitchen to prepare meals for the kids. The patio opened to a nice pond snd golf course. The pools were kept clean and there were plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for the guests. We had a great time. 😎👍

We stayed here for the weekend while going to a nearby hotel function. We arrived late, check-in was seamless, and the staff member was polite and friendly. Arriving late, we entered the room, preped for bed, and turned in for the night. So everything was fine the first night, and from then on, it went downhill. We discovered in the morning the bathroom tub had black mold around the bathtub (see pics). We also noticed that the room had a lot of areas showing significant wear. I reported the tub issue hoping it would be fixed while we were out for the evening. It was not fixed. In addition, when we arrived back, just past midnight, from our evening out, we discovered our A/C was out. The room was quite hot. I called the front desk and was informed that the maintenance person had just left at midnight and nothing could be done to repair it tonight. I was also informed housekeeping had yet to clean all their empty rooms, so they did not have a room we could move to. The front desk clerk did offer to waive the night's charge and a fan. She brought the fan to the room promptly. We both had a horrible night's sleep. The room was so hot I could not get comfortable and ended up staying up the entire night. My wife woke up in a sweat several times but got a few hours of restless sleep. If we had discovered the A/C being out earlier in the evening, we would have moved to another hotel. The bottom line, this hotel is sorely understaffed and has been for quite some time. Throughout the hotel, in the elevators, walkways, fitness room, our room, etc., there are many signs that routine maintenance is lacking. The staff is doing their best to make things right, and I sincerely thank them. The problem is with management; management needs to get on the ball and do what is necessary to attract the staff needed to keep this hotel up to the Hilton standards.

Maybe more like a 3.5. First, if you’re looking for clean and comfortable this works. Bed was very comfortable and rooms seem pretty updated. Lots of outlets, including USB, for charging. Staff was nice and helpful. Disappointing: I know food service is limited with COVID, but it is not clear on their website. There is no food here besides the little snack closet thing. Several options nearby including an Applebee’s in the same parking lot if you have low standards. The walls are pretty thin. The stomping above us was pretty loud and we could hear conversations from people in other rooms and on their balconies with our door closed. And the annoying thing is that, when you first enter your room, the TV is on and set to the hotel station. This is whatever, but if you’re next to a room that is vacant, you can hear the music looping every 10 seconds because they leave the TV on super loud. It’s a mild kind of torture.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and hot each morning. Clean and spacious bedrooms. Kids enjoyed the pool time which was complimented by the not to hot weather. Nice location not far from local stores. Walmart, Costco and restaurants just couple miles away which made it quick fast to grab a bite to eat and get to relaxing.
Residence Inn Palm Desert

Booed this as it was the cheapest in the area for coachella. Solo traveller. Have previously stayed in a residence inn in Florida and it was a good experience. Arrival was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Directed to room and given a map and explained all amenities to me and also details about the festival shuttles etc. Room was in block 1 on the ground floor. Nice and big with a double bed and kitchen area. Bathroom was amazing and clean. Very good size. Patio doors lead to a very small patio that overlooked the gold course. Lots of gold buggies drive by all day, bushes surround the room so there’s privacy. Bed was comfy. Clean room. Limited kitchen utensils. No kettle. Pool area was nice and clean. DJ started at 10am for the festival goers which was most of the guests at the hotel. Breakfast was basic but good. Paper plates and plastic forks only. Option to take breakfast away your room too. Staff all really friendly and greet everyone. Overall I would totally recommend this place for coachella or a general stay.
