La Isabela Suites

We spent our last night in Panama at La Isabela Suites and weren’t disappointed. We stayed in the Hotel Columbia annex overlooking Plaza Bolivar. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Jose was brilliant on checking us in and helping with our bags and as we had an early morning tour and an evening flight allowed us a late check out at 4pm with no extra charge or fuss which made our last day so much easier and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Honestly, among the best services and places I've ever been in the region. The staff is so professional, kind and attentive to details. I felt pampered in many ways. The place is also amazing, clean and well equiped. We got a beautiful upgrade and couldn't be happier. Thanks again for being so amazing and I am already looking forward in booking my next trip with you!

Great accommodation right in the heart of Casco Viejo. The suite was really comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very kind and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Its a great base in Panama City and we would definitely go back.

La Isabela's 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite was the perfect accommodation for a family trip. The spacious living room and handy kitchen made our visit even more comfortable. The location is so convenient - quick walk to local sights. Good local chain coffee shop (Cafe Unido) a block away. Perfect location for a few nights' stay in Panama City. TIPS: Car service to/from the airport was excellent. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi were strong. Shower pressure excellent. Concierge service friendly and helpful.

Wonderful personal service! I left an essential item behind and Andes made all the arrangements to get it back safely to me in the US. I am truly grateful. There was a cancellation at the other sister hotel 5 minutes away. They graciously gave me a room in the main building, which was an upgrade to 2 bedrooms, at no additional charge. The maid service was stellar, after all, she found my expensive item and turned it in. Again, very thankful!

This is a great little hotel located in lovely Casco Viejo. Quiet, spacious rooms, scrupulously clean and just up the street or around the corner from terrific restaurants and cafes and other interesting sights in this classic old quarter. Perhaps best of all are the staff - notably, Andres, Jose, and Rodrigo - who are so knowledgeable, friendly and extraordinarily helpful in myriad ways. Ask them to line up a walkabout with local guide Araminta to introduce you to the history of this fascinating neighborhood - the perfect way to begin your visit!

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The customer service here is top notch, literally the best of anywhere we have ever stayed! We stayed in a suite which was a 5 minute walk from the main building- no problem at all for us. We loved the location. It was in a cool square with a nice restaurant next door that had a great menu and fantastic drinks! For dinner after a long day, we enjoyed getting takeout from another great place, also in the square, and eating on our balcony enjoying a bottle of wine, a great view of the square and listening to the music playing. The suite itself was really nice - clean, spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed. As nice as the suite was, what really makes this place so special is the staff here. Rodrigo, Andres, and Jose went above and beyond! We had a few obstacles with our itinerary and they were so helpful with them all and just such nice, accommodating people. I still can’t get over how great they were. They stored our luggage for us when we went to San Blas for a few days and when we realized we had left a passport behind Rodrigo went through our suitcase and found it for us (upon my request of course). We loved our Panama vacation. We will be back and we will stay at La Isabela Suites again while in Panama City. Highly recommend!

I went on a short trip with a friend wanting to see Panama. He had found some package deals and you could choose from different hotels and it would raise or lower the total. Our original plan was a name high rise in the business district. I found this place because of high ratings on Trip Advisor. It was maybe 100 more for the 4 nights we stayed so only maybe 25 more per night. Well worth every penny. It's located in Casco Viejo. If you're doing a tourism trip, do it in Casco Viejo. The downtown district is nice and I'm guessing it may be a better selection for really younger people if the clubs are down there. Casco Viejo is pretty much a self contained vacation as they have everything you need. What a hidden jewel. I can see why it was rated highly on this site. First it's not a huge property. More like a cozy place you can stay at because you know someone. Ha. Cozy doesn't mean small. It's massive by hotel standards. You walk into a beautiful large living room with an island/bar separating it from a very full sized kitchen. There are so many restaurants in Casco Viejo most will never use the full kitchen but the refrigerator is great for the waters that the staff puts in there every morning. A small thing but very appreciated as it stays pretty hot outside. There are two large bedrooms with each having their own very large bathrooms. The beds are full and I think the one in the Master is a Queen. Mattresses aren't top of the line but I slept well on mine. There's a side door that opens into a private courtyard for the guests staying at this property. Very peaceful loaded with large plants everywhere. All the flooring throughout the suite is classic Central American tiling. I personally love tile floors. Our lady that serviced the rooms every morning did an outstanding job and kept the fridge stocked with waters and the rooms picked up like new. Everyone we met on staff were super friendly and asked us every time they saw us depart or come in if they could assist us in anyway. All the desk personnel speak very good English and will do anything they can to make your stay better. They know all the restaurants and can direct you a perfect one that suits your pricing. I'm not sure I'll ever make it back to Panama City but if I do I'll hope this place has availability.
