SO/ Paris Hotel

Paris|0.34km from Allo Indes
I booked my wife to stay at this hotel recently and she loved it. I needed to be in Paris, and decided to try it myself. It is now the place I will always try to stay in Paris. The great thing about this hotel is that it is a perfect trade-off of price/location. In September, we stayed at the Faubourg Sofitel (also Accor) which is about as 'Prime Paris' as you can get. Right next door to the Elysee. For that, you got a hotel which was about 50% more expensive, for 40% less product. SO/ is central, but a bit on the edge, and for me that is worth every cent of the tradeoff. Additionally, the tradeoff places you right next to the river with views of Paris that are sensational. And anyway you are 5 mins on foot to the Places des Voges - this is still beautiful Paris. Other big pluses: - food quality is really high in Bonnie. We went for dinner and breakfast. Both great. Dinner buzzy, and possible the most beautiful breakfast room views imaginable. In summer.... wow. - rooms are extremely high quality fit out. Bed is incredibly comfortable. Just be aware that there is now bath or desk even if a room which could accomodate it - staff are charming and very well trained. - access by car is easy. Very few people will be driving (but I was). Access is super simple, and the valet parking v reasonable (about Eur40) - I didn't use the gym or pool, but they looked amazing by Paris hotel standards - I loved the design concept of the hotel. It is young and modern without being like a W (which I don't like... trying too hard) I strongly recommend. Thank you SO/ Paris.

Crowne Plaza Paris République, an IHG Hotel

Crowne Plaza Paris République, an IHG Hotel

Paris|2.28km from Allo Indes
We stayed six nights at this fairly spartan property that was fitted with basic room attributes including a small refrigerator, a hair dryer and a tiny safe. We requested a coffee maker and received a hot pot with instant coffee. Getting an iron in the room proved a bit of an ordeal. The room was clean and the beds were quite good. Hotel staff was uniformly convivial, accommodating and helpful with exception of an encounter with the night manager (more on that later). Only one low voltage outlet in the bathroom was provided that could power an electric razor. My daughter brought a dual-voltage curling iron and hair straightener that could not be used in the bathroom due to lack of an electrical outlet. Staff ultimately provided an extension cord to be strung from the nightstand, and over the bed that my daughter was able to use to reach a wall mirror in the bedroom. We had the misfortune to be at the property during the annual Pride celebration at Place de la Republique directly in front of the hotel. My wife has mobility issues and we had to push through hundreds of drunken celebrants to get to the only entrance to the hotel. Scary stuff getting pushed along by a mob where my wife could have fallen and been trampled. I understand the Pride celebration is a public event but its a scheduled event that the hotel could have alerted clients to and made provisions to have opened a guarded entrance on the backside of the building away from the inebriated mob. With an early morning departure to the airport, I went to the desk the night before to check out so we could leave quickly the following morning. The front desk clerk advised that the hotel had my card on file and my e-mail address so they would send me the bill thereafter with nothing additionally to be done the next morning - just drop the key and run. As we were leaving early the next morning the night manager told me that I couldn't leave because I hadn't settled my bill. He inferred I was skipping out without paying the bill. I recounted the discussion I had the previous night and he repeated firmly that the bill needed to be closed out before we could leave. It was an uncomfortable encounter that was unnecessary. Somebody needs training here and its not the client. In summary, I'd say this property lacked many expected elements for the price point and as such could only describe it as providing moderate value. The lack of provisions to accommodate client access during the Pride celebration and the check-out snafu made it seem that they were somehow new to the game.

Goralska Residences Paris Bastille

Goralska Residences Paris Bastille

Paris|0.43km from Allo Indes
I have been travelling to Paris virtually every year for the past 40. For most of that time I've stayed in a very modest place near the Bastille because it was quiet. Recently I have occasionally stayed in a more upmarket hotel in Place de la Republique, sometimes quiet, sometimes not. From now on, however, it will be Goralska Residences every time. It was a stroke of luck that the two previous places mentioned were full for my recent holiday. Thank goodness! It forced me to look elsewhere and I struck gold. What first attracted me about Goralska Residences was that all the rooms (there are only 12) look directly on to the beginning of the Canal St Martin so your view is a delightful one of water and little boats. Thereafter, I was impressed by the rave reviews and liked what I saw of the various rooms on offer - all mini-apartments with living room, sleeping area, bathroom and a 'kitchen'. I chose a Royal Suite and was on the top floor (sixth) and loved every minute. It had enormous windows, to gaze down on to that lovely view, and a separate bedroom. The decoration in the rooms can best be described as colourful and quirky but the main thing is that they’re comfortable. Triple glazing ensures that any traffic noise outside is reduced to a mere murmur. There are art books to read and an iPad to plan your time in Paris. There is ample cupboard and shelf space and I’m happy to report plenty of coat hangers. Internal noise disturbance is minimal to zero, and with so few rooms it would be surprising if it was anything else. The bathroom is decorated with dazzling blue tiles: stunning. I organised my own breakfast each morning, after a visit to a local supermarket, and made good use of the fridge. I was also able to rustle up an evening meal on three days by using the microwave. There is a good supply of cups, plates, cutlery etc. And it was the first hotel room I’ve stayed in where the coffee machine grinds the beans for you. One negative, which was easily dealt with, is that the large double bed had a hard ridge in the middle. If I turned over in the night I would then have to physically move to the comfortable area on the other side. I would hope the hotel can rectify this before my next visit! The service from the staff that I met (Amélie, Janice and Lionel) was friendly, helpful and personal which is one of the advantages of staying in such a small place. The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Place de la Bastille, a transport hub, but also within walking distance of the river, Le Marais and so much more. I stayed for eight nights and look forward to returning.

Hotel Sleeping Belle

It only takes about three to five minutes to walk from Paris Gare de Lyon to the hotel, which is very convenient. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are Starbucks coffee around the hotel, there are many restaurants, and there are also many restaurants in the train station that can solve breakfast. The rooms are small and exquisite, and very quiet. Considering such a convenient location, it can be said to be very cost-effective. From Lyon Station, it is very convenient whether to take the subway to the main attractions shopping streets or to go to the suburbs of Versailles and Fontainebleau. recommend!

The People - Paris Marais

The rooms were small but clean. There were small cubes where to save your stuff but not even a carry on would fit there. The private bathrooms were ok but there were no towels to even dry my hands on or to step out the shower afterwards, so everything was a bit wet. Sometimes I could not get it into the common bathrooms for some reason and I know I was not the only one (problems with hostel card) We asked whether they could add us all to the same 4-bed room since we were 3. They said they could and afterwards they did not 'by mistake' so this was a bit disappointing. The place in general was awesome, it was very nice, clean, friendly staff. They also have lockers where to store your luggage if needed. Breakfast was a bit expensive but totally worth it. Location was convenient since there is a metro station just around the corner, so it was pretty easy to move around such a big city. I would probably go again.

Bardzo duży plus za pomoc obsługi przy wejściu do apartamentu. W razie problemów - pomoc nieoceniona. Bliskość do metra - faktycznie ze 100 metrów. Blisko Sekwana - 2 minutki drogi, obok park- 1 minuta.
