The apartment is in a very convenient location – a 10-minute walk from the Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame de Paris. There's also a grocery store across the street, and a little further away, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes serving crepes, sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, and more. It's hard to go hungry.
The Odeon metro station is at the end of the building, and the Saint-Michel metro station is 3-5 minutes away.
The apartment itself matches the photos. It's quite nice and comfortable, but there were a couple of issues for me.
First, the bed creaks REALLY loudly. I lived alone, and the creaking woke me up every time I rolled over.
Second, the refrigerator gets pretty cold because it's inside and doesn't have a door. For example, I put a sandwich on the bottom shelf one evening, and by the morning it was completely frozen.
I was in Paris in early December, and the apartment was chilly, but there were two wall heaters and a portable one on wheels that I could turn on. So I didn't feel any discomfort due to the weather.
And the stairs... Yes, the description says there's no elevator in the building, so that wasn't a surprise to me. But my God, it was so hard to climb those stairs! They're spiral, narrow, and practically vertical. Overall, it was a bit of a struggle, especially with my suitcase.
Also, the building was undergoing renovations at the time—they were plastering the walls, as far as I understand. So, my jacket scraped against the whitewash a couple of times during my climbs.
But the location outweighs all these drawbacks, so if you're up for daily climbing, this apartment is perfect for you (though the bed and refrigerator still need some work!).
