Grand Hôtel de Paris

I stayed at Grand Hotel de Paris beside Gare de l’Est station, which was very convenient for transport and exploring the city. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and overall a good stay for the price. However, my room’s windows opened to the inside of the building rather than outside, and at times there were unpleasant smells coming through. A decent choice for short stays if you value location, but I’d recommend asking for a room with an external view.

Hot water was not running. Sink was clogged. Loud around 4am. Had to move out in the middle of the stay

It took several requests to get the shower soap dispenser fixed. When we arrived the shower flooded, luckily they did fix it. Noise was unbearable all through the night.

3 star advertised ,2 star on the door ,1 star in my mind , cramped uncomfortable room and bed, one chair for two of us ,tiny bathroom ,no kettle, dirty threadbare carpets, cleaners threw duty washing in hallways for us to step over, cramped breakfast area, only bothered day one, left day early to go home, backpackers hostel comes to mind ,

3 towels for 4 people. Twice I told staff to provide 1 more I addition to leaving a note, but no response. Elevator was very small and staying at the fifth floor was a challenge.

Not good for families. Dirty. Good location though This hotel was advertised as having cribs (subject to availability, of course) so I was very surprised upon checking in to be told they never had any. The staff was at least nice, and while I think she was trying to help us by putting us in different a room to better accommodate our 12-month old, it ended up being a terrible stay. The room was quite dirty (baby's hands and feet were visibly dirty after crawling around), the curtain rod was broken off leaving no window coverings, the small second bed was all bumpy with seemingly broken slats, and the shower did not drain properly. I'm talking wash your hair and maybe soap up your body before needing to turn the water off and wait for it to drain enough so that you can rinse off without it flooding. The main double bed was rock solid, and we typically like a firm mattress but it was a terrible sleep — even though we brought our own pillows. I will say, it was a good location, which between that and the nice staff, is the only reason I'm not giving it 1 star. Avoid if you are travelling with a young family.

Just what was needed We only needed a hotel close to both the Gard du Nordic and Gard del’Est. This was just right. Plenty of small restaurants nearby. Spot on.
