Hotel Cluny Sorbonne

This little historic hotel has an outstanding location. Right next to the Sorbonne and near lovely restaurants and cafes. The staff were friendly and helpful and everything was clean. We did struggle with the room size and the tiny bathroom. The breakfast was also a bit pedestrian. Of course this was what kept it within our budget.

I stayed a little over a week here and had a lovely experience. The price was very affordable (9 nights for 925USD). Standard rooms in Paris are on the smaller side which I expected. The bed was comfy. Shower was small but clean. You can hear your neighbors coming and going but I couldn't hear them in their rooms. My room faced the road so there was street noise (face the courtyard if you are noise sensitive). Also no air conditioning (at least in my room) but it was cool while I was there. There is 24 hour door service and an alarm set in the wee hours, so it felt safe. The location is great! Across from the Sorbonne, steps aways from cafes, Luxembourg gardens, the Cluny museum, Au P'tit Grec and the Pantheon. The Cluny La Sorbonne metro stop is a few blocks away and Notre Dame Cathedral is a few blocks after that. The staff was exceptional. Yanira, Amzah, Marwan, Alemeh and Chauaib were all very kind. My phone charger broke and Chauaib offered me one from the hotel while I looked for a new one. They all let me practice my very elementary French with them and were quite encouraging esp Amzah. There are no refrigerators in the rooms but I was able to use theirs for little items. While this is not a luxury hotel it was a great deal in a gorgeous location. Definitely recommend!

The room size was ok, but the bathroom was ridiculously small. I realize this is Paris, but better planning when constructing rooms might have been a good idea.

Clean and comfortable rooms, though the carpet in the stairwell is very worn and could use a good cleaning. I initially thought the reviews complaining about the showers were dramatic, picky travelers...until I experienced it. The hotel is still a great value for the price but the showers are an issue. They are so tiny you cannot even turn around without the curtain sticking to you and bumping the water handle, changing the temperature to super hot or cold on accident. I'm not a big person and it was impossible to avoid this. My husband is 6'5" and it was a complete joke for him. We still appreciated the overall value of the hotel, but hated the shower situation.

Some great features like decent shower, lovely location and staff, good cleanliness destroyed by small, tired and unappealing room. Time this hotel was given a make over.

A lovely old classic French hotel. Steeped in history. Friendly lovely generous staff. Small rooms. In the heart of the Latin quarter. I would live there if I could.

Not what was showing on the website, they give us a smelly room with with a very tiny shower that I couldn’t fit and I’m not even 6 ft tall. I understand that is a very old building and everything is small but that shower was beyond ridiculous. I asked the clerk if is possible to change the room and they said no. Not recommended at all.
