My partner and I stayed at the hotel for four nights, and unfortunately, it was not one of our better travel experiences.
To begin with the positives: the location is quite convenient, with a couple of metro stations nearby and within walking distance to Gare du Nord. The staff were generally welcoming and polite to us as foreign guests.
However, there were several significant drawbacks. Firstly, sleep quality was severely affected by extremely poor sound insulation, with noise from the corridor and neighbouring rooms was clearly audible throughout the night. Additionally, a false fire alarm around 5am one morning forced all guests to evacuate to the lobby, causing considerable disruption and chaos.
Safety was another concern. Rooms are secured only with a physical key, and the front desk was often unattended, allowing potential access to unauthorised individuals. Although rooms have an interior safety lock, ours was broken. We reported this on our first night and were assured it would be fixed the next day, but it remained unrepaired throughout our stay.
Other issues included a persistent peanut butter scent in the lobby, which we found unpleasant, inconsistent water temperature in the shower that often became uncomfortably hot, and inadequate room servicing, such as tissues not being restocked after we had finished the box.
Overall, given the price point, we believe there are certainly better options available: Closer to major transit hubs, with more spacious rooms, better service, improved cleanliness, and more reliable security.
