Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe Hotel

Champs Elysées Paris|1.46km from Le Cosy
I was debating between a 4 or 5 star review but had to go with 4. The hotel itself is located a short 3 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the Metro station. The property is very nice and the staff was excellent, English was really spoken as were many other languages. The breakfast was excellent, I'd recommend the package with breakfast included. Two reasons for the one star reduction. First, the hotel has 2 elevators. One was foam when we checked in and had been for some time. Having one elevator in a hotel with 118 rooms becomes problematic at busy times and we waited for 5 elevators more than once. It looks like either the elevator was damaged by water or mechanical or a renovation was planned, but.. I think it was the former as a renovation is done and workers are present and the situation scheduled. This was just a sign and apologies. The second issue was one evening we came back to the hotel from a day out all day to find our bathroom had 1 towel, not a full size but a bath mat sized towel. We were informed their towel service didn't return the towels that day. We baked and a second small towel showed up but, that was not well planned out. The GM did apologize profusely, but it seemed like poor inventory control to hand zero stock on hand. Otherwise, great location, fantastic staff, rooms are decent sized and well appointed. Ask the staff for recommendations on restaurants and cafes, they are all knowledge

Hôtel Opéra Liège

Hôtel Opéra Liège

Paris|1.99km from Le Cosy
We stayed in this hotel for one night on September 12, 2022, after driving back to Paris from Brittany, as we had an afternoon flight scheduled back to the U.S on September 13, 2022. On arriving , we were given room 101, which appeared significantly smaller than the room size we had booked. When I pointed this out to the front desk staff, we were offered a larger room, 110, which did appear to be the room type we had intended to have when we had made our reservation. The hotel is stylish, pleasant, and clean. The breakfast is good. The staff members we encountered while there were cordial. Despite the above, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. When I checked email the morning after returning to the US, I received an email saying that the hotel had charged my credit card an additional fee of 250 Euros because the cleaner had encountered a strong smell of smoking in the room after we left. The message also stated that I was informed of this on registration. It was signed ” Regards Ines B”. Neither of us EVER smoke. In fact, we found the amount of smoking we encountered in France in general, unpleasant even when sitting outside. The fact that hotel put through this charge without communicating with me to see whether what the cleaner said was true or whether the room in which the cleaner encountered the supposedly strong odor of smoking was in fact the room we stayed in, was and remains infuriating. I spoke to the manager, Ms. Conan, later on September14, 2022. . At first, she kept insisting that the hotel was correct in making this charge, and that there had been smoking in the room. Eventually, as we spoke , I think she did come to believe me that we had not smoked in the room. To her credit, she remained polite during the call despite my being extremely angry and raising my voice. She did reverse the charge and send an email apologizing for what happened. I hope no one else has a similar experience at this hotel, or anywhere. To come home to find you have been charged 250 Euros without your knowledge, for an infraction you did not commit, for indulging in habit that is personally offensive to you, is galling, to say the least. Therefore: BEWARE! .

Hmm. Our stay here was pretty mixed. The room was comfortable enough and though on the small side, for us it was big enough for our small bags and for it being in Paris. The pillows were decent but there was only 1 each, we had to request extra pillows and then it was pretty comfortable. I appreciate they upgraded us to a room with a bath rather than a shower but it wasn't something we were overly bothered about using. The location is close enough to the metro and some supermarkets, the restaurants nearby are ok. The main issue I had was that when we checked in we booked the ”romantic package” and we only did that because it looked like good value, not because we are particularly romantic!! From the website, it looked like it included late check-out, champagne, macarons and breakfast. So we thought, well, this is good value and a bit of fun. Upon check out it turns out it actually means you can have breakfast in the room if you've already paid for it and I don't think it makes that clear because we would never have paid 15 Euros each for such a basic breakfast with bad coffee and I don't even know where we would have eaten in the room! I also found the staff to be a bit creepy when they brought up the ”Romantic package” and actually it made me feel pretty uncomfortable actually with their weird smiles, winking and whispering. I was also annoyed that we paid for late check out but when we returned to our room in the afternoon to rest and freshen up, the extra pillows we requested were gone, the beds *****ped and towels removed from the bathroom, like they had started half the job early!

Firstly, the price was fantastic. The location is close to a Metro station and a bus stop. It is only 25 minutes from the Eiffel Tower by Metro. It is also close to the train station by bus. The reception area was welcoming they also spoke good English. The room was very clean, and had air conditioning. The shower was great and also clean. Don’t be put off by the stairwell on the road towards the hotel when you first arrive (coming from the metro). It is near a police station, very well lit, so also very safe. I would stay here again!

We loved this hotel. It was like something out of an art gallery. There were local transports links on out doorstep. The staff were lovely. Our travel plug had broken and they kindly lent us one so we could charge our phones! We were given extra pillows the beds where always made perfectly. The breakfast was amazing. 1 down point water pressure in shower wasn't all that and our bathroom sink tap was a little wobbly. But that was minor! Overall it was great!! I would book this hotel again!

I can recommend the Hotel Gaston. I live right around the corner and I always put all my friends up here. You can quickly reach Metro 14 and Metro Wagram. Good gastronomy around place Pereire or Batignolles. Very nice place.

The hotel must be booked by car, it is too far from the subway station, the night road on the return trip is a little disturbed, after all, the local is hard to say. This is insufficient environmental hardware. But there is a leclerc supermarket across the street, full of temporary needs. Staying enthusiastic, just have to wait for a while. The rooms are not large or small, and the design is consistent with the style of Accor N stores, which are more used to it. The price / performance ratio may not be expensive due to the location, far from the city center, and all attractions and traffic points. But it takes time to travel. The equipment is not too old in other respects, and it is acceptable to stay. The air is also okay, the view is on the side of the main road, which is relatively wide, but the building is irregular, so the rooms have different sizes. See the purpose of the line. On the way, I encountered locals to show the way, so I didn't take too many wrong paths. Breakfast is also consistent, bread is unique to France, but drinks are not fresh and fruits are average. The coffee is average, but the new kusmi has a lot of tea. There is no automatic coffee machine in the room, but I got a bottle of Evian.

The location is very good, I checked in at 2pm. There are a lot of places to eat around and the service attitude is good. The main thing is the bed sheets. You can smell the fresh smell after washing. I must have changed them to new sheets, and the bed is very comfortable. Already recommended to friends, will come again next time.
