Hotel is very good, big and updated rooms and clean. Very good breakfast and good food at restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful. At the golf course we were not so happy. We had 4 tee time and expected to rotate the 3 – 9holes courses. That was not the case, when I tried to talk to caddy master he was rude, even when I said that I had booked tee time 9:04 when he said you start 9:26. Caddy master even tried to let us play same courses red and green 3 times in a row. One of the courses is in not good condition the green one (they all them yellow, red and green). The greens one should be closed, as the picture shows. Generally, the greens are not good, too much sand in all of them, I just came from 3 other courses in my trip in Spain, all of them much better, different level in good condition. The courses are overbooked and there was chaos with the tee time start and when we started the second 9 holes. Staff at club house restaurant had unpolite service, everything was done as a big favor instead of service minded approach.

Really enjoyed our stay, Christmas and New Year. We were on All Inclusive, room on 1st floor, massive balcony which would be excellent in the summer but only got the sun for an hour or so in December. Room was great, cleaned every day ( including Christmas day) we had to say no to the cleaner on New Year's day (a late one). Food was varied but always something we liked and plenty of it. Invited to Gala night on New Year's eve which was a set meal and some people didn't like some courses but we found fantastic. All the staff, restaurant, bar, reception and cleaners very polite and helpful. I struggle to find anything to complain about unlike some reviewers. Will definitely be going back this year. We were looking for a reasonably priced Christmas Break in the Valencia / Alicante Region of Spain, and have used other hotels in the Port Hotels Portfolio regularly through the year, so we decided on Port Europa Calpe. Yes some of the rooms are old fashioned, and the bathrooms are too, so if you do not like stepping into a bath to get a shower, ask for a modern room. But the staff are extremely helpful, the housekeeping was excellent, we paid for a sea view room and enjoyed watching the gorgeous winter sunsets every night. The Christmas Day lunch was lovely. We liked the location, slightly quieter and a nice walk to the port as well as the town centre along the promenade. One thing I noticed was the age group are certainly more mature, and hardly anybody dressed up for the evenings. We never bothered with the entertainment, so cannot comment. But we liked the food even though it is like eating in a school cafeteria, the tables are packed together and the plastic chairs are a little off putting but we know the Spanish love to be close together to be able to enjoy each others company. Overall for a quiet good value winter / Christmas short break we thought it was very good value for money.

Stayed for 4 weeks so we have good knowledge of the hotel. Overall the hotel was excellent- every member of staff we met was helpful, polite and friendly- I fail to see how other reviewers say they are rude!- the hotel should be proud of them. Food was all buffet service and quality was very good, with a good variety every day to suit all tastes. The dining room experience is mixed - it gets very noisy at peak times and becomes unpleasant but avoid peak times and it is good. Hotel was spotlessly clean. There has obviously been some updating and the general appearance is very good. The TV service in the rooms is very poor - unacceptable in today’s age with satellite, cable and internet options - never in our 4 weeks did we have both BBC and ITV , and for the last week we had neither due to lack of signal. Despite the couple of negatives we would definitely return as the hotel represents excellent value and is in an ideal location.

The room is spacious, with a sofa and a balcony. It is a few minutes walk from the beach. There are free parking spaces on the street nearby. There is a large supermarket across the street. The swimming pool is very beautiful. It is just in time for the European holidays. It is full of families with children on vacation. , the first choice for Calpe; however, those who are used to staying in star-rated hotels in China may not be used to it. There are no slippers, no toiletries, no paper towels, and no bathrobes. Haha, you need to prepare them yourself.

Just had lovely three night stay at this hotel. My initial thoughts were that the apartment was a little tired but overall it proved to offer excellent value. It was well-equipped and was spotlessly clean, the bed was king-size and was very comfortable and the towels were soft and fluffy. Staff were superb, very helpful, always polite and friendly. Breakfast and dinner both offered lots of choice. Central location with easy parking. Will definitely stay here again.

The Hotel Porto Calpe is, without the slightest hesitation, easily the best accommodation we have had in Spain. This three-star hotel provides comfort, cleanliness and attention to detail was beyond the scope of those three stars. We paid a little extra for a front sea view which was worth every penny as the bustling port has character and charm and looking out and up to the Peñón de Ifach was amazing. I have included some photographs taken from our balcony. You may need to click on these for best effect as they are panoramas. The hotel is compact and bright. The room was immaculate. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Our linen was changed and the accommodation was thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We Brits panic a little when there is no kettle in the room, however, one was provided for us without asking. Staying in the port area was nice and central with easy walks, past some amazing archaeology, to the old town and the Playa del Arenal-Bol in one direction and a short hop over to Playa de la Fossa in the other. There is also a brilliant little tourist train which is worth trying. Being in the port area is also a bonus if you like seafood as there are a good number of restaurants here literally specialising in preparing today’s catch for you. The Taberna del Port restaurant which is attached to the hotel is one of the best. We ate here more than once. There is so much to see and do in Calpe. We will certainly return. When we do, we will look for a room at Hotel Porto Calpe.

So arrived and all seemed okay looked nice. Decided to get a snack from cafe (as they call it) we asked for a beef sandwich and a plain hamburger (for the kids) staff member so rude said don't do beef sandwiches my husband said well on the menu! And why plain hamburger?? Why should I be asked my kids don't like salad !! Waited half an hour for a beer and a moijio asked twice where are my drinks barley a sorry!!! Room okay pull out bed very uncomfortable but okay for 1 night I asked for extra pillows I got no problem. Air conditioning didn't work in our room! Safe don't open until maintenance man opened himself! Food average all buffet not tasty basic!! Pool lovely but small. Overall not great spoke to manager and you can have a free lunch no thanks basically didn't care but my point is 4 star and paying £300 a nite you want it to be amazing far from!
