Hotel PB - Paris-Barcelone

Great location across the street from the train station. Basic room but clean and all we needed, very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and breakfast room, and great patio for happy hour and snacks looking out on Salvador Dali's favourite train station. Also an easy walk to the old city center.

Stayed for four nights in early October. Always a pleasant welcome, and stored my bag without drama when I arrived before midday by train (directly opposite). Looking at previous reviews it appeared my room (214) was refurbished more than twelve months ago but was still pristine. Bathroom fittings were stylish, and indeed the whole hotel as many tasteful artworks displayed. I got the feeling someone has chosen everything from room directional signs to light fittings with great care. The room was small but plenty of open storage, and who comes here to stay in the room anyway? Comfortable bed and no traffic noise despite my room overlooking Avenue General de Gaulle used by many buses. Breakfast was similarly laid out in an immaculately clean servery. Fresh pastries, a selection of breads and lots of locally-sourced produce – the jams and juices were particularly good and even the coffee was roasted in Perpignan. There was never a queue for anything, including the water heater to boil eggs to your liking. Yogurt and cheese was always available and a selection of fruit changed daily. Definitely worth taking, and the hotel appreciates advance booking. The corridor carpets and stairs (no elevator) are getting threadbare, but I suspect they will be shortly replaced. The location was great for me. About 10 minutes walk into the central district past snack bars and kebab shops to reach a good selection of restaurants. I used local trains to visit Les Orgues at Ille-sur-Tet and the fortified town of Villefrance-Verdet-Les Bains. The bus (line 3) to Canet Plage and Canet Sud leaves from the other side of the station. Like every hotel, it is the people who make the experience. All the staff were lovely, and I'd certainly stay here again.

Loved this hotel. If you're staying or passing through Perpignan we highly recommend it. Nice modern and very clean rooms, literally metres from Le Gare and super helpful staff. We tried our best with our French but were sadly lacking so the staff were more than willing to use their flawless English. Can't fault the place. Don't worry that it looks far from town, it's not, 10 mins walk.

Excellent hotel. From arriving early but being able to leave our bags until our room was ready, through to a friendly and easy checkout. The location is quiet despite being near the train station and is at the top of a long straight road, but it's not too far to walk into the town centre and suited us immensely. We think it was the owners who met us on arrival, and the chap was around at most times, he was polite and chatty, great english, but wasn't intrusive in any way, and we always got a "good night" when traipsing back after a long day. On a morning, the lass at reception and breakfast 'duties' was friendly, always smiling and didn't stop to replace items if required, clear away and was extremely helpful. The room was minimal but large enough, clean, warm and dry, and we wouldn't have expected anything more from a hotel! If we ever find ourselves in Perpignan again, we wouldn't hesitate to return here! Being very picky, the only negative we could think of, and it is petty, but there was only one coffee machine which led to a bit of a queue building up on one of our mornings there. An extra coffee machine would be ideal. But not the end of the world!

We were there for 7 days and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a small place with 22 rooms and owned by a young local couple. We always look for a local hotel convenient to the trains and center city. Although basic it met our criteria. What made it special were the people. The owners and staff made us feel like family. One young man Luis was a joy to be around and helped in every way

Very nice. Good value for price. Simple breakfast but fresh and inviting.

As you walk out the station the hotel is on opposite side of the road.just metres away. Perpignon centre is 10 min walk. Both the lady and gentleman we met at reception made us feel at home and comfortable. Stayed two seperate nights in two different parts of hotel that is currently undergoing 'modernisation. First room (205) not completed yet and a bit 'tired' but was still comfortable though very warm with no ac and bathroom was' dated ' with few plugs. By contrast the second visit ,room 214 has been completed and was delightful. Modern bathroom, lots of plug sockets, freshly decorated and ac. Both rooms did have desk fans as well. We will stay again !
