Beautiful location in the heart of the jungle with stunning mountain views. My husband and I spent a short holiday here and found it incredibly relaxing. We enjoyed a great night’s sleep, surrounded by fresh air and a peaceful natural environment. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly throughout our stay. The room was beautifully designed, and in my opinion, this is currently one of the most beautiful hotels in Khao Sok. We visit Khao Sok regularly every few months, and we can confidently say that this is one of the best-maintained properties in the area. Everything feels clean, new, and thoughtfully designed to provide plenty of privacy for guests. One of our favorite experiences was taking a morning walk around the hotel grounds, enjoying the tranquility of the jungle and the serenity of the surroundings. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in Khao Sok. It is only 20 rooms so good for someone who need quiet place.

Our stay at Lost Horizon Resort was impacted by some frustrating issues, mainly related to organization and billing. Throughout our stay, the restaurant struggled with consistency. There were quite a few order mistakes and a noticeable lack of coordination among the staff. Unfortunately, this didn’t end at check-out. The day after we left—on a hectic travel day with two small children—we were contacted about billing discrepancies, as a dinner and several drinks had not been included. Having to sort this out after departure was both stressful and inconvenient. To us, this felt like more than just minor errors and points to underlying operational challenges. We would therefore recommend settling your bill each day to avoid any potential confusion. We also went on two excursions. One of the guides, Nong, was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and truly made the experience special. In contrast, our initial guide on the Cheow Lan Lake trip seemed uninterested and lacked engagement, which took away from the experience until we managed to change guides. On the positive side, the resort itself is very appealing. It is newly built, stylish, and well maintained, with a high level of cleanliness. The pool area is particularly nice and ideal for relaxing, and the staff were generally warm and welcoming. The food is another strong point. Breakfast was varied and of high quality, and both the restaurant and bar delivered very good meals and drinks. In summary, the resort offers many great qualities and has clear potential, but the organizational issues—especially in the restaurant and billing—had a noticeable impact on our overall experience.

We had a really great stay at Lost Horizon Resort and would happily recommend it to others. Overall, we were very satisfied. The resort is new, beautiful, and well-maintained, and everything was clean throughout our stay. The pool area is especially lovely and a perfect place to relax. The staff were consistently very friendly and welcoming. The food deserves special mention. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection, and both the restaurant and bar served high-quality food and drinks throughout our stay. That said, the restaurant service could be improved. The waiters were generally friendly but often seemed a bit confused and made several mistakes with orders. Fortunately, the quality of the food more than made up for it. We also joined two excursions arranged during our stay. We were lucky to have Nong as our guide on one of them—she was absolutely fantastic and made the experience truly memorable. On our trip to Cheow Lan Lake, however, we had a guide who was quite disengaged and seemed uninterested in the group. There was very little communication, minimal effort to share information, and overall it felt like the guide was just going through the motions rather than trying to create a good experience. It was honestly disappointing, especially in such a beautiful setting where a good guide makes a big difference. Fortunately, we were able to switch to Nong, who completely turned the day around with her enthusiasm, knowledge, and warmth. A big thank you to her! All in all, a wonderful stay with just a few minor areas for improvement.

We had a lovely stay at the Lost Horizon Resort. We booked the 3 day 2 night experience package which included bamboo cooking, guided night safari, cheow lan lake tour and khao sok river canoeing (albeit we opted out of the river canoeing in favour of a more leisurely morning). Our meals and soft drinks were also all included. The resort itself is very peaceful and you can hear all the sounds of the forest animals. The villas are thoughtfully positioned so that none overlook each other and our riverside villa had a stunning view of the surroundings. We had considered a floating bungalow but felt they were too basic (even the best ones) and so glad we chose here instead. The food was also very good. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful.

My wife an I stayed here at the very last minute after the war in the Middle East meant we had to extend our trip by 2 days. It is a fantastic place and the staff are brilliant. The food is excellent also, we stuck with local fair but there were extensive western options for the less adventurous. The rooms are spacious and lovely (we stayed in a river view room). The only fault would be more shade around the pool especially but I know they were waiting for replacement umbrellas after the previous ones were destroyed in a storm. Umbrellas can be fairly limited for shade though and it was super duper hot when we were there. The local cave is really worth a visit but make sure you have a guide and we also did the night time canoe which was great too. It shouldn’t be about price but I would say that this was probably the best value for money hotel/resort I have stayed in. The rooms seemed too cheap and made me nervous but really no need to worry and the food and drink is also super well priced. Thanks to everyone there for a really fantastic last minute holiday extension.

special and peaceful. The rooms are large and comfortable, but there were quite a lot of insects inside the room, which was disturbing at times. The bedding also felt a bit dusty. Breakfast was overall good, with several options to choose from. The hotel restaurant serves lunch and dinner, but the menu is quite limited and does not change, and the food quality is average. The staff is very kind and polite, but seems inexperienced. During meals, plates were not cleared from the table, which made the dining experience less comfortable. The pool is small but nice. The dining area is very warm and there were mosquitoes and flies, which made it less pleasant to sit there. Overall, the location in nature is amazing and the hotel has great potential, but improvements in cleanliness, food service, and comfort would make the stay much better.

A must visit. This hotel was so peaceful and relaxing, lovely room and amenities. The staff are amazing - I accidentally left a ring in the bathroom and after checking out, they posted it free of charge to Chiang Mai for me!
